TLT fitting part 1

After extensive search and help w/ guys (thanks lyle!) in this forum, i finally got my irons and FW TLT'd

i didn't really have time to get dialed in b/c there were couple of other changes made from previous set.

first i went from Blackgold stiff to S400 which has about 5-20g difference in shaft weight. also, per lyle's recommendation, i added some tip weights throughout the set. maybe it's in the head, or perhaps the fitting truely puts me in consistant position at address, but i felt really comfortable setting up to the ball. unfortunately, i had to work and didn't get to hit any balls.

however, i was at the range brieftly hitting my junk balls against my new 3i, and all of them were basically right on the money as far as trajectory and flight pattern. nice little fade w/ boring trajectory. although it's closely MOI matched, my 3i felt little too heavy. also, 3i is probably the hardest club to hit well in my bag right now, and if i can be more consistant w/ it, i think the fitting was well worth the trouble and money.

i'm dying to go out to the range and hit some balls tomrrow. i'll be back w/ more extensive report once i get dialed in.

I'd like to hear how you're liking the TLT'd clubs once you spend a little time with them. I've been thinking about having this done for a while now.

basically, it's finding the natural athletic position for each player, then using math to figure out club length and lie angles to put the player in that natural position for each club - this natural athletic position should enable a player hit their best, most consistent shots

so i had two sessions w/ them. first one was at a range on grass, and second one was at 9-hole course.

at the range i wasn't 100% satisfied w/ the fitting.
PW-6i felt right. shaping shots, distance control, and the feel of lie vs length were perfect (for my standards anyways). they were consistant. the ball was positioned little bit forward of the center (club heads were set up right at the center).
problem came w/ 5i-3i. lies on these were flattened significantly (esp. 3i i believe to 3* flat) and every shots were tailing off to the right. more so w/ 3i. put the ball little bit forward and i started thinning the shots. However, the feel was the same, and i was hitting them consistnatly on the clubface. but the ball was not going straight.
3w and 5w. i was smashing them. better control definitely. love the way turned out.

so at the 9hole course. shot 36, even w/ my poor display of putting. i was sticking them close to the pin. 170yd 7i no problem. i didn't really get to use the 5i-3i, so i can't comment on those, but pw-7i were definitely better as far as what i wanted to do over a shot. definitely pleased w/ them.

i might have to bent longer irons little up right, but there were lot of changes made (sw, shaft weight, and length), and need to get dialed in little more before i change the lies. i can play w/ my ball position a little bit, and also w/ my take away from address. i know i take the club head back lot more straight back w/ longer clubs to promote more of sweeping action, so i need to try to swing them like my pw.

one thing i noticed and pleased about is the amount of grass i used. the amount of grass i used at the range (usually in rectangle by the time i'm done) are reduced by at least 1/3 of what i normally use. i'm bottoming out well ahead of the ball, which also translate in the more crisp shot and coming to the ball w/ decending blow. this was true for pw-3W.

for those of you whos TLT'd, and gotten more flattening long irons, how are you hitting them?
