In need of driver shaft(s) recommendation.

So I've been demoing a lot of drivers lately and with the stock shafts have been leaning towards the G10. It has, again with the stock stiff shaft, been the best performer and it's also cheaper than the other offerings out there that I like.

In the next few weeks I am going to go hit on a trackman to find the best combination for me, but would like to hear what specific shafts people would recommend I try.

My typical ball flight is high and a lot of spin. I have a quick tempo and my 5 iron distance is between 180-190. The shafts in my irons are DG S300. My typical mishit with the driver is a slice although I occasionally do pull them. I am probably going to trim the shaft shaft down a bit and although we all love it to bomb it control is a greater priority than distance.

Any thoughts?

The TFC 129 shaft in the G10 is an excellent shaft IMHO. The other options they have (ProLaunch Red and UST V2 HL) are both unknowns for me. If you are going to switch shafts go for something big bucks and don't waste your time on the cheap ones. You won't do any better and maybe worse.

Spoken like a true Ho. Are you sure you don't work for Ping? Maybe on commission?

There area lot of great inexpensive shafts out there, they just don't get heavily advertised (one of the big reasons they are inexpensive). I play a $20 shaft in my driver and I'll put it up against any $200 shaft for quality. Ask Lyle, he'll tell you.

Graffaly ProLite 35. Low launch. Stable. Inexpensive.

From Grafalloy's website:

Prolite 35 features a low torque design ideal for golf’s strongest players. The stiff-tip section helps promote a lower, more boring ball flight and makes it the perfect complement for high performance clubheads.

I'm actually quite happy with the stock shaft in my tour burner. Great launch angle and ball flight.
