Thread: I no longer like my putter... In fact, I hate it!

  1. I no longer like my putter... In fact, I hate it!

For the last 4 years I've been playing with a YES! Callie putter. I purchased it b/c it felt nice, looked nice and I liked the way the ball rolled off of it. After 6 rounds this summer though I've decided I hate the damn putter. :real angry: Its not working for me anymore. I'm having a hard time lining up the ball with the putter line. I no longer like the way the ball rolls off of it. I also "feel" as if its too light. I am thinking about a mallet-type putter or something a little heavier so that I can "feel" like I am manipulating the putter head during the swing. Before I got the YES! putter I had the original Odyssey two-ball and didn't care for it. I'm looking forward to a trip to the golf store to test drive new putters.

I just bought a Guerin-Rife 2-Bar Blade Hybrid. I like the feel off the face, as well as the adjustable weights.

    Check it out.

  3. Thats on my list. Also someone here (can't remember who) recently posted something about a new TM Rossa Monza something or other putter that they weighted even heavier than it came and he/she is very happy with it. I gotta scan back through some threads to find it.

I wonder if you're thinking of the TaylorMade Tourismo?

Wi-Golfer bought one recently, and really likes it. Smaller than the Spider (which I think is WAY too massive) but has a lot of the same design principles.

Go on and drink the coolade and buy a Scotty. You won't be able to putt any better, but you'll look really good missing those short putts now,

So far so good, I am very happy with the Tourismo. I did try an experiment & swapped out the 4 gram weights for 2gram weights. maybe it was a placebo effect, but the putter performed poorly. Put the 4 grams back in & all is good. Going to pick up some 8 & 10 gram weights & see what effect if any they have.

Yep, the Spider is just too damn big for my tastes. For those who own it & like it great. I just don't want a putter which is bigger than my driver.

That would be the Rossa Monza Spider.

I just bought one because it worked so frickin' well on the practice green.

I am quite happy with my Anser putter (see sig) but I am always looking to putt better. I'll soon find out....

Honestly I tried it in the shop and liked the feel. Just decided I'm not a big mallet kind of guy...for now.
