I need a...

new driver! Well I want one anyway. I just sold my R5 TP, having a little sellers remorse but I will get over it. I have around $150 to spend and have no idea what I want. SO, I put it to you guys for recommendations!

First off, what'd you like/dislike about the R5 TP? I thought you loved the thing.

Yeah, really, why did you dump it? What do you want from the next one?

I'm picking up the 3DX square(tour) from Rockbottom for $70.

I figure for $70 if I hate it I can throw it away if need be.

It should be here Friday.

I got antsy, sold the shaft out of it and was going to put a V2 into it. Then I sold the head and was going to get a 9.5*. Now I am open to suggestions and frankly am leaning right now towards an R5 TP 9.5*.

You all know, and don't tell me you don't, that the things we do as "club ho's" don't always make the most sense LOL

I looked at one of these once before. have you actually hit one? And if so, how do you like it? My next question is, how is this thing USGA conforming and the Renegade isn't?

You're a TaylorMade guy so why not a Burner?

Too bad you don't buy a new one. Then you could have a Ping G10 (probably with a ProLaunch Red) and be very happy. Maybe you could find a used one somewhere.

Just go hit one and you'll see. I got along good with the R5 Dual TP I had so maybe we can hit the same clubs good?

Yes, i've hit it before i own one...

I like it a lot, I was hitting a Ben Hogan C-S3 that i bought from silver before, and i was hitting that thing tooo high and it was ballooning. I don't have that problem at all anymore, but it's probably because i'm using a ProForce Gold 65G shaft. I'm not a clubmaker or anything but i can tell that i don't have the sidespin i had before and heel or toe shots are much straighter than before. I'm not a extremely long hitter but when i get a hold of shot and come through the ball I'm hitting at least 15-20 yards further than before. It looks kinda wierd on Hireko website but in person its a very nice looking club head, and has a extremely durable finish. Its kinda cool because the ball leaves a impression on the club face that wipes off so you can really see where you hit the ball. I haven't hit a lot of drivers before but i knew what was in my budget and what wasn't and I feel its a great deal. For $60 for the club head it's definitely worth it in my opinion.

Regarding USGA conformity, that a question for Jeff Summit over there at Hireko.

For that price I may have to get one just for $hits and giggles and throw some off the wall shaft in it, who knows, I may create a Bombing Monster?

want mine? I can't hit it well. Only have had one drive that was straight and longer than my 3wood. 1000 shots later and I cannot repeat it.

R7 425 TP with shaft of your choice, personally I am really digging this pro-launch red. It's definitely not as forgiving as my Burner/Proto combo but it's certainly longer when I hit it correctly, & it just feels so damn good to swing.

I love the sound clip. Sounds like a midget sneezing a blueberry out his nose.
