I would have gone Chuck Norris and roundhouse kicked both the dad, and the kid! Then I would've gone Mother Theresa and given them a hug and taken care of them! Only to turn into Christian Bale in American Psycho!

thats not too bad, looks to only be cosmetic. nothing a little razor blade work (to get rid of the parts to stick out) and flat black paint can't hide. its like a $4.98 fix

Well the situation ended today. The kid told his dad, and his dad approached me this morning very apologetic and offered me 100 dollars which was the worth, but I realized it was only a putter and kindly turned it down. He said how about a dozen Pro V's or what ball you play. They don't sell Callaway at the club so he went to the nearest golf store and came back with 2 dozen Tour IX's. I think it was over the top for what he did and I am very appreciative off what he did.

BTW shot a 34 with 11 putts on 9. I think this gouge is good luck!

Good for him. And good for you. I know it took a lot to turn down that $100 (I would have thought real hard about taking it) but I think you felt that his offer to take responsibility was the important thing. Solid response on your part, IMHO.
