Ping Anser Users

Hey guys, Ive decided to purchase a Ping Anser, but I do not know which one as there are several different models. The other putter that I liked what the Odyssey White Hot #3 so I didnt know if there was a ping model similar.

Thanks for all suggestions.

The Redwood Anser is the finest blade putter Ping makes IMHO. The other Anser models are similar but not milled and not quite as heavy. The Redwood Anser also does not have an insert face. It's best to try them out.

The Redwood Anser is what I use. I chose it over a Scotty Cameron based on feel.

I just wish that Ping would offer a Redwood Anser 4 (Anser 2, but with a flare neck instead of a plumber's neck).

(And while I'm fantasizing, I would prefer a round flare neck instead of the squished rectangular neck.)

As for what you should use dunagan, it's all personal preference. If you don't want to pay $250 for a Redwood, then I would suggest the PING Karsten. Very good putter and very reasonable price, and it is available in both the Anser and Anser 2 models. For $89, you won't find a better putter. The steel face gives it a crisp feel, but the cavity inserts makes it soft. Damn close to a milled putter feel in my opinion. If it had been available when I bought my Redwood, I may have gotten the Karsten to save some money.

The Odyssey #3 has the same neck style as the Anser 4. The Redwood Anser has the same neck as the Odyssey #1.

I still use a original brass ping anser that i have used since 1995, though it has been converted to a belly putter
