Thread: I'm now a Putter ho... Help!

I'm now a Putter ho... Help!

So I haven't bought a club in a little while.. I've tried to avoid doing so, and to be honest, I really can't think of anything I needed other than wanting to get a 22* hybrid to give a shot with.

But putters, seem like I can't get enough.. I wanted the Rife Bimini. I found one, and putted for 20 minutes with it at the store. I couldn't drop SHIT! I was probably 3 out of 10 with it from 15/20 ft. I would might high and low all the time, but it did have fantastic speed control.

Tried a SC Squareback.. Junk. Absolutely junk. Perfect length, and looked great, but holy crap, I've got a $10 wilson at the house that blows it out the water. It was hard and harsh when you hit it. Speed control was.. absent. It was garbage, and I wanted to buy it too, it was a demo, and was $199 bucks, which wasn't bad!

I tried the Rife Abaco. It was MUCH better than the Bimini, but I just realized I can't use a heel shafted putter. I don't have a pronounced arcing putting line. I'm closer to straight back, instead of gated. So while it was nice, it was just too light feeling, and I would miss high with it alot.

So I tried the SeeMore's... I have a tour issued sightline free m5 mallet. But it's 33 inches, and it goes hot and cold for me sometimes. I feel like it's a tad too short too. That, and I kinda like atleast one sight line. This thing is perfectly clean from the top line.

I like blade putters, so I got on eBay, a tour issue prototype m1 from a fellow in GA.. Has a sightline, 350 gram milled blade. 34 inches, 71*.. Perfect for me.

So now I'm a putter hoe. I have 5 putters, and can only use 1 at a time. I have 2 tour issue seemore putters, that I have no business having!

    I need to stop, really.

Let me get this straight. You have 5 putters now and you want US, to help you STOP ho'ing clubs?

1st off, with only 5 putters you're still a amateur putter ho.

2nd'ly, asking for help to stop ho'ing on here is like ............, I can't think of a adequate analogy, but it ain't going to happen,

BTW, nice pick-up, hope it works out for you.

  5. It's good to ho putters IMO. You learn a lot about your stroke. FWIW there is no such thing a SBST stroke. Every stroke has at least a little arc to it. Take care to pay attention to your misses. Poor rounds of putting can tell you a lot. For instance, I have the most trouble with shorter putts. From outside 15feet I'm pretty good, as good as most "good" putters some days. That is because when I have to hit the ball that hard, I get more of an arc path. When I'm in close, I push the putt and don't release the putterhead. I've tried to "fix" this with a mallet putter but I really can use an Anser style blade, which is much, much better for distance control but I also have to work on releasing that putter. I practice with a totally 6'oclock toe hang "Cash in" putter now. Without a very good arc stroke, that putter is blocking it off.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! I couldn't make my mind up which of these to get. Nowhere has them in stock so I had to make my mind up without demoing and decided to go with the Napa style Bimini

Actually had something like that happen one time. My wife & I were playing Roulette at a casino in Vegas & my wife is horrible in any sort of gambling. I was winning & she was losing faster than I could recoup it. The female dealer actually told me to tell her to stop playing so I could make some $$$.

Hope I don't get in trouble from the threadjack cop.

    Manchester,

I REALLY wanted to like the Bimini. I really, really did. I think it's down right a gorgeous putter, and would LOVE to have it in the flamed finish.

However, I just couldn't putt worth shit with it. I tried, I tried to talk myself into like it, buying it and making it work. I carried it around the store for 20 minutes, came back and putted again. I blamed the ball, grabbed some prov's some callys and some taylormades that I play.

Nothing. Zip. I pushed and pulled every putt. I left everything short. It looked like I had never putted before, so I stopped, because I thought people were laughing.

But if I had to choose, the Abaco was way better for me, and I'm not a huge mallet type guy. I have 1 mallet, and I rarely game it because I'm not used to grabbing short sticks between my legs.
