Help, Matirx Ozik code 6 shaft snapped

The Matirx Ozik Code 6 I had in my 3 wood snapped right at the hosel. I have no idea why? I didn't hit the ground, or a tree, nothing, I just put what felt like a good swing on it and right when I should have felt the kick, instead I felt it snap. It was tip prepped for a 3 wood, and snapped right even with the hosel of my HiBore 3w. Is it savagable for a 5w or 7w? Or is it garbage now? :faintthud

I guess that would depend on what you're putting it into. Say a 4 hybrid or something, playing pretty head heavy, it might work.

Code-6's still seem to be fairly pricey, even for a pull. I'm still after a bargain to stick in a driver, but hope is fading fast....

I wish I could at least blame it on that. I don't swing that hard, I was hitting this club about 240-250 yards off the tee. I was trying to draw it around a dog-leg left so I was trying to turn it over a bit more. But I figure it was just a defective shaft? It was a pull I bought used so who knows what it had been through in the past?

To make matter worse, the club head went skidding/bouncing down the friggin cart path and buggered it all up. Now I'm down to my 13º HiBore 3w and my Tee CB1 4 w, oh well?

Second, we're going to rework this story for future reference. You were actually going for the green on a 620 yard par 5 on your second shot. You knew that a slight draw would give you the ideal landing spot and position to ensure a close spot to the pin and an easy eagle put. Frankly, you execute the shot perfectly with your favorite club, and in doing so, broke it from the sheer force of momentum. The loss of your favorite club has also resulted in a slight distance loss and pain that even a tap in eagle couldn't rectify.

As far as replacing it goes, I have a Accra SC75 shaft sitting here loose. Does anyone know anything about this shaft? Besides, this gives me an excuse to ho, as if I needed one, :rolleyes:

Maybe you could contact one of their distributors? at that price point, who knows, they may have a policy of trying to make things right for their customers - Talk to Rory or someone, they'll at least be able to tell you if you have a chance with Matrix - they can probably find you a fancy new head too

No idea on the shaft..

I recently destroyed my hybrid shaft, ala a cart. I was playing golf polo.

Maybe find a used club with a nice shaft and pull that?
