Any thoughts on the Tour Burner?

You can pick up a Tour Burner for a song these days. I'm thinking about picking one up for a bomber driver, build with a light shaft. The non-TP are supposed to be square to 1 degree closed, and slightly draw biased. Sound like my spec. Has anyone hit the regular Tour Burner, and can you give me your impressions? Thanks!

Hey Clug,

Are you talking about the '07 Burner? I have the TP version with a stiff Creation which while not looking open at address, has proven very hard for me to miss right (my hook). No experience with the more closed face regular version but just thought I'd share my info with you.

Edit: Sorry mate just noticed that the title is TOUR Burner, meaning the '08 version. Bloody TM have confused me with all their drivers called the same thing.

Personally I prefer the 07 BurnerTP. Its hard for me to imagine a better driver.....even with the stock shaft.
The 08 works fine but I prefer the look of the 07.

The Tour Burner never worked for me. Of course I only hit it with the stock shaft.

I have a DVS-55, and also a Billy Bob clock ferrule sitting around. Maybe a 2007 Burner would be worth a shot, too.

Definitely. You can pick them up for an even cheaper (worse) song.

It works for me - I hit it really well and driving is the weakest element of my game.

It's not a clangy sounding driver and it has a softer, less harsh feel.

I've heard some say it is one of the better TM heads they've made. Sound of a 510TP, but very forgiving and straight. I think it sets up just beautifully. I'll probably start lookin'.

It is very forgiving and long.

Quite easy to shape if you are playing well too, sounds like you are convinced so good luck with it

It's a good head. I had two and they were both closed I would say more than 1*. Both were 9.5 heads.

Head to head with the 425 it lost hands down.

I crush mine.

Both the TP and the regular one.

On the days the hook comes out, I stiff it up, and pull out the TP and keep it all straight and right.

Nice sound, and soft feel.

I've hot one on a simulator. Definitely worth looking into. Solid distance, and good feel- even with the stock shaft.
