Re: Thoughts on Staff Bags for us hacks

I wish I could walk 18..I caught baseball for 26 years...couple surgeries later and in need of one now...I cant do it...I tried once last year...My left knee was screaming at me by 7...
I have a ping bag..the Discoverer from a couple years ago..I love it...however the only reason I have that bag is I won it in a tournement!!

Re: Thoughts on Staff Bags for us hacks

My boss has a Mizuno one and it sits in his office now. He's got a smaller TM bag for up here and a Ping bag for FL. The Mizuno staff bag was too big and cumbersome. Didn't even work well on a golf cart.

If you are heck bent on getting one, definitely go with the mini staff bag. The Cleveland one I had was so big, I had to collapse it down some to get the strap for the cart around it.

Re: Thoughts on Staff Bags for us hacks

I was able to fit both TM staff bags on carts, The newer TMX one fit much better though. Although, seemed kind of useless. Any mini-tour events that required walking with a caddie I would always use a ping hoofer. Making somebody carry a 45 pound bag in 105* weather? A punishment fit only for the ex-lady friend. Wanna know what my staff bag gets used for now? It sits infront of a blown up 24" x 48" picture of me hitting a 9-iron into the 17th at TPC Sawgrass. It is also holding 2 SC putters, a R7 460 TP, Tour Burner TP, 2 Sets of wedges, my 2-iron, 2 ozik shafts, and a backup r7 425 TP. It makes a nifty little shrine to me

Re: Thoughts on Staff Bags for us hacks

My Ping USA commemorative bag is waaaayyyy to large to use regularly. Hardly leaves room for a cart partner's bag on the back of our golf cart. But, I do use it on special occasions like Memorial Day and will have it on the cart this 4th of July weekend.

The regular bag is a Ping cart bag that is only 8.5" instead of 10"+. It works well... has been my bag of choice for many years... has zippers that don't work... looks tattered and used.... but does the job well. I've looked at new cart bags, but just don't see anything that stands out. And... if I do purchase one, yes, it will be a Ping bag!!!

Hey Limp, I have a friend that just replaced a white and gold Ping Staff bag, want me to see if the old one is for sale?

Have the "staff" bag in my USA bag... big, bulky. It seems Ping may be evolving, however slowly, towards some similar cart bags to the C130, etc. I want a putter well, some full length dividers, pockets handy to the front of the bag. But, if the Ping bag you speak of is in good shape... seems I can't turn down much that has the PING name on it.

Re: Thoughts on Staff Bags for us hacks

I have a TM staff bag, and it is a bit on the large side. Mine was the old R7 bag, and it fit ok on the push cart and the regular cart as well. I curently have one of the Sun Mountain C130 bags. It is almost as heavy as my old staff baf(amazing how much crap you can cram into one of these golf bags), but does fit on both the push cart and the regular cart better.

Does this make me look fat? No, but your 50 pound belly does.
