I've hit the MB and the new TP not the old ones. They are both awesome. I prefer the look of the blades, but there is something about those new TP's that I love. I think, if I were to buy a CB iron set it would be those.

Anyways, back to the question. If I had to choose between Old MB and Old TP Combo, I'd take the Old MB.

But...If the new TP's were part of the equation then I'd go for the TP's...

Shit... I was of no help whatsoever. Sorry Dave

LOl,no worries

These clubs are relatively cheap now on Ebay and I'm looking for a second set to play with over winter, and nhave a decent back-up bag next year.Plus I wouldn't mind just trying another TM iron,I've hit the LTII and TP,and loved them.

I have no idea what the gag meant Youngun, sorry,it went over my head.

being the 1 handicap i'm referring to the fact that it wouldn't matter what you hit, the you buying me the clubs seems stupid upon second thought, but whatever

I see.It does matter what I hit, ball flight is a huge consideration. My irons have lasted one season due to the amount of practice I do,the faces are already showing signs of rust pitting.I'm pretty hacked off with Titliest, their irons should last longer than 2 seasons (they were 1 year old when I bought them s/h),hence why I want to try soem TM before I fork out on a brand new set of 690s.I may get some MP-33s otherwise.

I've heard that if you hit forged faces a lot, the grooves can start to cave in if you don't get them taken care of...whatever that means.

Dunno, but its ****ing rididulous for irons at the top end of the market, never mind at the bottom like Callaway

I have discovered that many tour pros still like the MBs and haven't gone to the TPs yet,Garcia an example.

I think by that time, the chrome would wear out on the face. You can, however, keep grooves sharp by re-grooving them, but you risk prematurely wearing the chrome off even faster, inducing rusting.

For 200 bucks, you can have a whole set of forged heads re-chromed. From the pics i've seen, they look showroom after it's done. Including the grooves!

200 bucks? I think tahts about 120 quid in real money,I didn't know it was that cheap.

I tested some 6 irons today,on a computer thing.I didn't like the TM Tps on a D2 swing weight,and loved the MP-33 on a D3.The MP-33s are looking hard toi ignore,but then I hit some 3 iron TPs,and loved it.

ARSE! or ass,as you lot say,or 'butt' in fact. I should start a new thread, use of the word 'arse'

Lol @ "real money"

Man, get a set of the 300 series forged, honestly. You'll be able to pick 'em up dead cheap these days, and they are the sh1t, man, I swear.
Not really a fan of the sets you mentioned there - dislike the pointier/more blade-like head on them. Have you seen/tried the 300 forged yet, dood..?
