Using a spline finder

After using SST Pured shafts in all my woods for the past year, I've decided to see if I can do the Spline alignment stuff myself, and save a lot of money over the long haul. A few weeks ago there was a link here about spline alignment and how to build a spline finder. I've got the finder built, and tried it out. I have 3 SST Pured shafts on hand to use as a gauge, but I'm not having much luck coming up with the same shaft alignment as what the SST Pure sticker is showing. Do any of you on this site, have any experience with using a spline finder, and can tell me exactly what I am trying to find by feel? Any assistance would be appreciated, Thanks guys. Don.

Do you have a frequency machine?
We put it in and watch, if it goes in a circle we turn the head and try again until it goes straight up and down.
This works better than anything because it really shows the best alignment for the shaft.

The plan is to use the spline finder, and then do a FLO on the shaft to "tweak it" the rest of the way. From what I"ve read, you need to do both to get the best results. Is that what you have found to be true? Thanks for your post. Don.

We do what I showed in my first post only. We have several tour pros that do not have any complaints.
This is a simple process that does not need to be made complicated.
You want to see how the shaft rotates when flexed. If you can get the shaft to bounce straight up and down you will not need to do anything else to it.
