Tipping advice needed...

I have pulled an I~Mix adaptor and plan to install my Grafalloy Epic shaft into it. I've read somewhere that I~mix shafts are tipped a little but not sure how much and if it's really necessary?

Re: Tipping advice needed...

QUESTION!!
what is the tip of the shaft now AND what is the length without an adapter?
you can get imix shafts cheap now and i want a damn fubuki!

as for the tipping, best bet would to measure the length up to the logo from the tip and find an untipped at a store or ask here the distance
if theres a difference, that tells you the tipping

Re: Tipping advice needed...

The Epic I have is brand new and untipped, just I read somewhere that all I~mix shafts are tipped differently to the standard glued versions of the same drivers to enable them to perform the same? Something along those lines. anyway I've looked on Grafalloy's website and decided 1/2 inch tip trim will be ok.

I have a I~Mix Fubuki 63 x5ct in x-flex which I'm open to offers on. PM me if your intrested and we'll see if we can work out a deal.

I've also heard 3/4 of an inch.. But I wasn't sure if that was in addition to the normal tipping instructions or not.

I'm assuming it's not, and that it's just 3/4 of an inch, and then butt trim to playing length.

Yah, I'm assuming its 3/4 inch on drivers that require no tipping in a regular application. I'm sure a YS-6 or the like would require the factory tipping for blind bore plus 3/4 inch.
