Cleveland Fairways

Anyone played any of the hibore fairways?? I am still looking around for my dad and found a few places you could grab the previous generation hibores for cheap. I like the XLS or whatever the new one is...my uncle is playing one and smokes it. Anyone played either or know the real difference between the generations?? I haven't found much info on the older version.

Re: Cleveland Fairways

I had a 15º 3w and a 5w and loved them. Someone stole the 5w out of my bag or I'd still be playing it. The 3w was money off the tee, but me and 3w don't get along off the deck so I'm bagging the Tee 4w. I've still got a 13º HiBore 3w that I bag when the driver starts misbehaving to badly.

Re: Cleveland Fairways

I have run across some of the older model brand new for $49...I might grab one and see how it is and let my dad take a look at it. He needs something pretty compact....he doesn't really hit woods that great off the ground so that is a concern I have seen with the Clevelands.

Re: Cleveland Fairways

Mddubya and youngun are probably two of the more knowledgeable blokes here for the Cleveland hibore series. Maybe Rockford too. I just put my hibore xl back in the bag yesterday and pured it all day long.

Just a suggestion but if you're happy to hit driver off the tee for the majority of holes I would suggest an old school orlimar for off the deck. Seriously guys, get one of these in the 15 or 16 degrees and just hammer it all day long. If you can't hit one of these bad boys off the deck, you got no business playin anything else.

Just my $0.02.

P.S you can find them in plenty of options on the bay usually for around $15-20 shipped.

Re: Cleveland Fairways

I bought a first gen. HiBore 5w, with Accuflex Creation 80-X just awhile back.

I've only gotten to swing it twice, so the verdict is out on it still.

I was actually in the market for an XLS 3w, but just ended up going with the 5w for some reason.

I do like the way this one sets up at address, its almost more hybrid like than fairway wood, because its pretty small, but I just haven't hit it at all to know if its going to be a keeper or not.
