I've been bored with 3 woods. A 3 wood is a 3 wood is a 3wood, boring boring boring
Hit the Mizuno F-60 though. with a pershing 75g in it, great club
Still, a 3 wood has to be the most boring club in the bag to hoe

I will keep my Freedom, my Money, and my Guns...you can keep the change.

I agree Dave. Not once have I gotten engorged thinking of a new 3 wood. A 5 wood on the other hand is a tad more exciting to me. Not hugely more exciting, but at least worthy of a flicker.

3 woods bore me only because I can't hit one off the deck. I'd almost come closer to flapping my arms and taking flight than getting a 3 wood off the deck. However, on the rare occasion that I do hit one well, it rivals the feeling of hitting a good and pure 3 iron shot.
Hmmmm, is there a connection here? Both a 3 somethings? Naw, I hit my 3 hybrid wonderfully, never mind. :emot-ange

I dumped my 3/5 wood for a 4 wood/hybrid combo. Works for me, or it did last time I played, anyway.
dubya, maybe you should try a 2 wood...![]()

They are boring to buy, boring to practice with and boring to hit on the course
never do you get excited walking onto a tee knowing you have to lay up with a 3 wood
I was excited for about, what, 5 minutes when I bought the F-60. Now it sits in the bag. I get more excited buying new tees than I do about a 3 wood
I'd say a good low lofted hybrid is more exciting. My 17* hybrid beats the crap out of my 13* 3-wood. Although.. the feel and sound of destroying your 3-wood just rocks.

I agree with Lyle, a 5 wood has something about it. Slightly shorter, smaller head, you can punch those things and get the old balata fizz going. Only Garcia and Tiger can do that with 3 woods consistently. The 5 wood brings us mere mortals nearer to godliness
I got my 5 wood for free.

Too many churches and not enough truth...
I'm not surprised by that...........
I think i will get the matching F-60 5 wood
On a side note, I'm really enjoying hitting my new old Hogan Medallion 3 & 4 woods, with their Rifle steel shafts. That heavier weight seems to make them a little more stable and easier to hit straight. Who would have thunk it?
I was going to reshaft my Exotics 3 & 5 woods with Penley Stealth 70 graphite shafts and still may, but now I wonder if the Stealth 90 might not be better choice for the fairways?
