Damn! Broke the Bassara shaft...

in my Tour Burner TP! Stupid thing broke right at the top of the hosel on the 1st hole and I didn't have another driver with me, so I had to play the rest of the round teeing off with a steel shafted 3 wood.

Even worse, I shot an 83, which is my average score on this track.

Looking at the hosel, it looked like it had a sharp inside edge, instead of being beveled, so I guess that's what caused the breakage. So, after the round I drilled out the old broken shaft, beveled the edge, and reinserted the Bassara. I'll just use a butt extension to get the length back, and see how it plays.

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its' pricks on the outside.

Should be a bit stiffer, but hell maybe you won't notice.

Re: Damn! Broke the Bassara shaft...

Well, I tipped it and tried it out, and it just doesn't feel the same. Feels dead. And it hits a good 20 yards shorter. So I ended up playing my 905R/Diamana all weekend.

I guess I am now in the market for a good 60-70gm .335 driver shaft, not too expensive, and the Bassara could be used for a 5 wood, probably.
