    s300 vs r300

I'm just wondering about how different these play. I know the r is reg. and the s is stiff. Is the difference as noticeable in steel shafts as say.... driver shafts or will it just produce a higher ball flight? My carry distance for a traditionally lofted 8i is 150. That's how far I hit my 40* 9I with a stiff shaft.

There is a different step pattern between the R300 and S300. The lower most step is much longer on the R shaft. However, I don't think you will find the R trajectory a lot higher than the S. The flex point for the DG shaft is extremely high and both R and S should keep the ball down.
There are a few who do play the R300 and have enjoyed it. I always felt it seemed a little unstable. May have been a 'mind thing' due to the lengthy bottom step. The S300 DGS is part of golf history, played by amateurs and pros alike. It has survived decades of competition and will be forever a part of this game.
I don't hit the ball nearly as far as you do. Yet, if it weren't for the Eye 2+ irons in the bag, the shaft of choice for me would be the DG S300. I have played that shaft in Titliest, Mizuno, Ping, Armours... dozens of irons and loved how it has performed. With irons, it's accuracy/consistency not distance. If you want consistency and you are questioning the difference between R300 and S300... go with the S300!!!!
I am lost and have gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, please ask me to wait.

Problem solved. I did the mizuno fitting with that thing on the shaft. My 6i ss is 86mph. That combined with whatever other 3 things it measures came to the conclusion that my best fit would be either the s300 or project x 5.5. Also did the Ping fitting to discover that i'm black(standard) dot and standard length. Midsize grip. I was happy to discover that the four #'s that mizuno thing measures were exactly the same on all three swings.
