Speed carts?

Or push carts as they are called. How many people use them? And do you like
them compared to pull cart.

I don't use one myself yet, but most all of the "walkers" in my club have made the switch.

Of the 12 guys that I usually play with on Sat/Sun during the year, 5 of them use them. 4 of them have switched from a pull-cart.

I still carry because I don't want to lose the extra trunk-space.

Push carts are better for your back and shoulder than pull carts which put a strain on the shoulder blade especially when pulling a loaded staff bag on a hilly course.

I've gone one step further: an electric Wildcat trolley.

Do you know the difference between a BMW and a porcupine? The porcupine has its pricks on the outside.

GoFlyers is an unknown quantity at this point
I purchased a speed cart last winter. After one season I can honestly say they are worth the money and I would never go back to a pull cart.

I purchased a push-cart this year-- a switch from pulling. There is a noticeable difference for the better.

Cool

I went from a pull cart to a push cart and can't see much difference. One advantage of the push cart is I can give it a push, and take a drink of water or take a bite of food with both hands free. The main problem with the push cart is size. With my pull cart, I can fit the bag and cart attached, into the front of my pickup. With the push cart, I have to remove the bag and put the cart in the bed. You will have the same problem with the push cart fitting in the trunk of a car as well. You have to take the bag off every time. I'm not sure the push cart is worth the added trouble and time involved.

Actually, they trialed these radio-controlled carts at our club last year. Kinda weird, as you clip a transmitter to your belt and the cart trails after you as you walk the course. You can't walk too fast, or you outpace them, and they just sit there in the fairway looking like R2D2 after having its circuits fried.

Also, they're stupid, with no IR or other information gathering function, so if you lob the transmitter off a cliff, they follow it. Might be a problem out in hilly climes.

Plus they have no remote, so you can't do a Rodney--push a button and have a beer appear or a club fly toward you.

I would rather carry. Lots faster.

I was gonna type something trite and witty about my advanced age (45), then noticed you are a mite bit my senior. So my tongue is bit and I'll note only that I like to carry to continually try beat back the ravages of that old man.

And I don't mean par. Hell, he's safe from me.
