Thread: Removing home-made sight line

  1. Removing home-made sight line

I bought a 2ball (used) and it has a sight line drawn on it. The line is done with red sharpie. I've tried nail polish remover and goof off solvent. I've been able to wear down the red to a faded orange, but the line is still there. Does the nature of the plastic on the crown of the 2Ball make removing the marker impossible? Or is there some miracle solvent out there that will take this off?

    Thanks!

  2. it's not the putter.
    It's the pigment.
    Red is forever VT.

    all indelible.

Maybe there's an infomercial type product out there that can help....be watching TV tonight around 3am.

It sounds like whoever you bought it from has been reading about Pelz. I would imagine that it absorbed in if the top is anything like the insert, but I am not familiar with the 2 ball. Plus I can imagine a sharpie would make it even more difficult

Anyways, you may be able to get the same effect by using a white finger nail polish, possibly white out (which would probably wear off fast), or try one of those Tide stain sticks. I heard that those will work on a golf ball. Since the white is advertised as the same material as a ball cover, it may work. Again, I'm not sure if the top of the 2 ball is the same as the insert, so it may not be the same as the cover of a ball.

    Worth a shot.

    try lighter fluid

the kind you put in a zippo lighter, if that does not work you are stuck with that line.

    VT,

Why not paint the two circles white again?

  6. I did a ghetto white-out job on mine when i tried to make em fancy and screwed up. Holding up much better than i had expected. If you run out of alternatives, give it a shot. I used Liquid Paper, FWIW

  7. Or re-paint them something other than white. Pimp baby, pimp.

Re-painting them would be pretty easy I'd think.

Bleach? (by the way for what its worth, water stains on ceilings disappear if you dab bleach on them with a cotton ball. I guess this would qualify as more than just a tangent LOL)

  9. Since solvent will not work, I think repainting is the way to go here fellas. As usual the most obvious choice is the one I fail to see. (Thanks Rock)

Those of you familiar w/ the 2Ball, what kind of paint would you recommend? Model paint perhaps?

    Thanks!

Model paint is exactly what I had in mind when posting. It's pretty resilient and tough. And cheap.

    Might be worth looking into.

  11. After you paint the 2-ball, I would recommend a coat of clear coat or two. If you can find some clear coat that is not glossy, all the better. The clear coat should protect the colored paint from chipping.
