Thread: Scotty Cameron putters?

  1. #1

    Scotty Cameron putters?

Do they make a difference? Which Scotty do you prefer? When's my family gonna chip in (no pun intended) and give me one for Christmas?

Putters a really personal. Camerons are well made but so are lots of other putters.

Having said that, I have one of his Studio Design models and love it but I didn't buy it because it's a Scotty. I loved the feel and look and that's what's important to me.

I'm sure I'd like it even more if someone would've given me mine for Christmas.

  3. I have a Scotty Newport PP, a 2Ball white steel and a Ping Anser and I am such a terrible putter, I plan on using them all next year

The Scotty's are really nice tho. Some people say it's hype... those are the ones that don't have Scotty's. Plus when you really think of it they aren't that much more expensive then the Odyssey's or Guerin Rife's etc.

That's easy for you to say....
Doctors say that you should eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to remain healthy. Last week I ate 5 mouldy plums and that night I shat the bed. What's healthy about that?:shocked::shocked:

  5. Scotty Studio Style in my bag. I was able to buy mine on Golfclubexchange brand new at a good price (for a Scotty.) I was wondering what all the hype was about when I first joined the board last year and now that I have one I understand what all the hype is about. This is the best feel that I have ever had with a putter. The balance, the weighting, and the feedback are perfect for my putting stroke. I can not accurately describe the feeling the the Camron gives me, but it just just feels right when I put it in my hands and putt.

If you have the chance, go putt with one and compare it to other putters that are available. I have tried to duplicate that feeling with other putters but I have been unable to do so.

I deleted the source or IG's post, VT.

You're original post was posted about 14 times for some odd reason. I deleted the 13 duplicates.

So, "Easy for you to say" seemed pretty funny at the time.

He'd be even funnier if he still had some whiskey to drink.

Dave, so wrong on so many levels! I love it.

As far as Scotty's go, I've got 4 and am currently looking for a Newport Oil Can that I can get cheap & send back to Scotty's studio for a re-furbish. They do quality work & when they're done, they're reported to be better than new.
It must be awful to have to work for a living.

I played with a Pro Platinum Mil-Spec for three years. I liked the putter a lot. During that period I tried a few high MOI putters (Rossa Monza, SC Futura, Bettinardi Baby Ben) and have come to realize that I putt best with a heel-toe weighted blade putter.

Having said that, I have recently switched from the Scotty Pro Platinum to a MacGregor M2, which is a heel-toe blade putter with a less offset, firmer feel and heavier head weight.

Camerons are very good putters, but so are many other brands.

  13. I've got one of the Futura putters, with added weights this thing is a long range tack driver. I love it!

Also handy around the kitchen for mashing potatoes;-)

  14. Well, so much for my anti-ho'ing campaign "no more sticks in 2006". I just bid on an won 2 Camerons today. A Bullseye blade and a Pro Platinum Newport 2. Both will need to be modified a bit as they each need new grips and length adjustments, but I can not complain considering the price I paid for each of them.

Damn you Scotty Cameron for making your putters so irresistable!
