Thread: Too Many Gloves

  1. Too Many Gloves

I go through a lot of gloves, especially this time of year (mud). Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning or at least care for making my gloves last more than 2 or 3 weeks?

How are your gloves getting muddy?

  3. Real men don't use gloves.

First thing I've done is rub my hands with fine grit sandpaper 2 hours every evening, then I soak them in saltwater and pickle brine for an hour following. This has given my hands the tough leathery quality needed to play this game like a man.

And a tasty snack when you get hungry on the back nine

Simple - buy two or three, rotate their use, and keep them in an airtight selophane bag whilst using t'other(s)....

Rotate as mentioned before. I have about 10-12, I throw 3 in the bag at one time. Rotate each round. After I use each one about 2-3 times, I grab a different 3 and do the same. I used to go through about 1 every 3 rounds or so using it all the time. Using this method, I have used the same 10-12 for about 1 1/2 years and they are still fine. I probably can use one for about 15-20 different rounds by using this method.

In the mid summer it is really bad because my hands sweat. I use 2 during a round switch about ever 3-4 holes and strap the other to the front of the cart to let it air dry. Although I do this more for grip than glove life

  7. Buy synthetic gloves. Or dont wear gloves. I'm too cheap to wear em, but when i do get em, i get the synthetic ones. You sacrifice a little feel, but they last forever

    Try switching hands
SCORE?? We're really supposed to count?

Swearing may not have been invented on a golf course, but it is certainly perfected there

  10. But seriously, I need to wear a glove, especially with the driver. My hands will slip through impact and I'll either be too open or too closed. I brought a new one with me today. Already got mud on it. I'll be lucky to get one or two more rounds out of it after tomorrow. They should have some sticky tape or something you could use instead of a glove, I would try that.

You could try Duct Tape, it works for everything else. Duct Tape and WD40 pretty much work for anything.

  12. I go through stell amounts of gloves.

There isn't much you can do, I have a plastic thing in shape of a hand which you can put your glove on when not using it. Alot of the time gloves can actually be ruined from a poor grip, and gripping the club to tight
Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Do you use the Sonartech OR 3-iron, depending on course conditions, or what, T.M. ? Just noticing that you have 15 clubs listed there...

Sci-Flex or Dry-Ice is where it is at, imo. Players are great, but are dear, and last very little time, too..

I used one of these when I started, but it seems to really stretch out the glove and shorten the life. I have also found that buying slightly smaller gloves extend the life for this reason.
