My Ball Testing Results so far

I've now played every ball mentioned in these forums except the Nike One's and tour Bridgestones and won't play any Top Flights... Here's my own personal opinion on them, open to disagreement by anyone.

Best top dollar ball (between the Pro V-1 and Callaway HX Tour) was the Pro V-1. I hit some really long, nice drives with the Pro V-1 and it was a pure pleasure off my irons and on and around the green. The HX Tour is a super good ball but didn't stand out from the lower priced balls like the Pro V-1. Bottom line is I can do pretty good with some $25 balls also so won't be spending $40-45 a dozen for these.

Best ball for me (lower to mid priced) in this order:

Bridgestone E5 followed closely by the E6 - One fantastic ball for the money

Callaway HX Hot - long off the tee but not as good with the irons

Titleist NXT Tour - does everything really good but nothing exceptional

Pinnacle Exception - I can make this do in a pinch

The rest go in my "water ball" section

I wanna try the Nikes and the new Taylor Mades, me.

Guy at my club is for Florida sometime shortly. He promised to bring me back a dozen Taylor Made balls. Talked to him about bringing some back to sell on UK Ebay as tthey're selling for a quite ridiculous £50-plus, but he said that the airline sting you for the extra weight, and tax you, too. Sad..

i read somewhere that the E5 is the only 2 layer ball to be used on tour.so it must be a pretty decent ball for the price.

My bad, WBL, I interpreted your post incorrectly. I was under the impression that the ProV's were 25-30 a dozen while the HX's were $40+.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'm hijacking this one. These are the balls of which I currently have a supply, meaning anywhere from 3 to 50:

Titleist DT SoLo
Titleist NXT
Titleist NXT Tour
Titleist DT Wound 90
Hogan Hawk
Hogan Tour Deep
Callaway HX Tour
Callaway HX 56 Tour
Noodle Long & Soft
Noodle Al Dente
Noodle Rotini

My question is: for a 90MPH driver swing, which one of these balls is gonna be longest off the tee?

Wow, you have quite an assortment.

Doc, this is gonna sound bad, but have you considered ladies balls? They're meant for lower swingspeeds.

Who was it that played a Pearl and really like it? Other than the fact that it's designed for slower swingspeeds (ie: women) and the pearlecent cover, it's the same technology as the HX series. Great wind ball, good spin and more carry.

Might be worth looking at.

If you need to find a home for the HX tours and 56's, I know a Canadian guy that can't turn down a good deal...
