YIKES, I just noticed why I can't hit this!! The guy put a R flex in it instead of a S. DAMN!!!!

I told him and told him and told him and told him!! Explained how the stiff goes from 95-105 mph instead of normal 100-110 etc.

No, the pro I bought my Pings from. I believe he is going to re-do this for me. Screw it, I'll just sell this thing. It's been a thorn in my side ever since I looked at it.

In regard to my "shaft learning process" if someone hits a driver with a regular flex shaft in it instead of the stiff he should be hitting will he hit a few good ones and the rest are disasters? I know the other way loses distance but don't remember what the consequences are if it's too soft.

I too flexible of shaft will traditionally lead to duck hooks. A stiff shaft will leave the ball out to the right and short. Personally, if I use a soft shaft, all I hit are fades. If the shaft is like iron, i pull the ball like crazy. Maybe that's me trying to compensate for the shaft mentally.

But for argument's sake, let's say your normal. The soft shaft would cause the hooks mixed in with a few normal fades that you're used to seeing when you put a good swing down.

The idea of the stiffer shaft makes total sense to me, assuming the figures you gave me were correct.

Notice the word "traditionally".

In my experience, which i've outlined above, has been totally different.

I pull and hook R flexes since changing to a more inside to out path. I also hit my shots a lot higher since the change. What's going wrong with the shots using the new driver?

Nine holes, used the driver on six of them. Two beautiful long straight drives. One horrible low slice. One pull and two duck hooks. I NEVER hit duck hooks or LOW slices. Rarely hit slices.

How much do you want for it?

$200 + shipping. Paid $299 (plus tax) in June and now $137 to put this shaft on. I've maybe hit it on no more then two dozen holes.

I was back to where I got it re-shafted. He put in a regular flex since that's what I had on my irons. He also showed me on his flex tester thingy that it was well into the stiff range "just like other regular flex Grafalloy shafts" as he put it. So I guess I basically have a stiff flex shaft in it I couldn't hit Saturday because my back hurt so bad. That's probably the real cause. He was sure hitting it nice when I watched him.

Anyway, I've got a Ping working great and a Tour Edge Exotics coming. It's for sale.
