Demoed two drivers today.

Welp, went to dicks today to see if i could find a driver that would give me some better performance off the tee. I brought my 905t to compare. My launch monitor stats with it were 6 degree in to out path, 1 degree closed clubface, SS of 113, smash factor of 1.41. Well i was averaging carry of around 270-295, he said i'd probably get around 30 yards of roll, since they were the low boring type. Time for the test, tryed the r7 425 and the Cleveland Hibore w/ prolaunch blue. The r7 was set up for draw, so naturally everything was 10-20 yards left. I lost around 10-20 yards from this club. I only hit around 5 balls with the hibore, and one carried 300, but the rest landed around 260. It was a pretty useless demo as if i got the r7, it would be a tp w/ speeder 757. And if i got the hibore, I might drop a speeder or accuflex evo in it. The jurys out, so does anybody have any other reccomendations for me to try?

I wouldn't call it a completely useless demo...atleast you now know two drivers that you don't like.

Good luck with the search.

Obvious choice would be the 905R. Knowing your swing and how it performs on a launch monitor or demo helps. I liked the R7 460 head and asked for a strip of impact tape. I hit about 20-30 in a row with only one ballmark on the tape. It was 1" inside center. I know this is due to the 60g Reax shaft, way too light for my liking and swing. I need a stouter and heavier shaft. I highly recommend to you and anyone looking at drivers, find a demo day with a launch monitor, get a recommendation, go from there.

Good luck in the search. Remember, if you can't hit 'em...... Ebay em and try another.

Aye, you can always resell. Next time try the r7 but set up neutral. I can't stand it set up for a draw, feels aweful!

Give me a week and i'll tell you how the Accuflex/HiBore combo works out....

R35

PS...you have to tee the ball lower with the HiBore to get better distance with it....just an FYI....

Callaway FT3 with a V2 like the one in your driver. You will not be able to beat it!! I am going to put my speeder in it to see how it goes. The kick on the stock nv is making hit my driver WAY TO HIGH!!!

Try the R instead of your T with the same shaft.

10 more yards and 60cc more forgiveness. Can't go wrong.

Adam,
With the normal shaped 460 cc drivers currently being made the sweetspot is actually above the center of the clubface so teeing it higher was a way to hit that more frequently. With the HiBore they have changed the head shape so this sweetspot is moved down (see their website) and if you continue to tee high as on other 460 cc drivers you'll be over the sweetspot on the HiBore. R35 can maybe comment further on this but I think this is right.

WBL is bang on here. Think of the face of a conventional driver, only upside down. This emulates the HiBore face. Low teed balls fly further and are easier to control over balls stick way high off the ground.

I used to use short conventional length tees with my 460 to keep the ball more controlled until I felt comfortable with the 3.35" ones to hit the ball higher in the face. Longer, but harder to control.

The HiBore gives you the best of both worlds. Length and accuracy.
