So im looking for a new putter and fairway wood (3).

    What you guys recommend?

I have tryed - Ping G5, Taylor Made v-steel, Callaway X460 and Taylor Made R5 dual.

I hit the R5 dual very well but i also hit the Ping very well, i have only used the Ping at the range but have been using my uncles R5 on the course, thing is i cant seem to find them in many places, discontinued?

I have no idea on putters, my putting is horendous, game inprovement putters anyone?! :(

    Cheers.

    Deej,

Putters are super personal. Go try everything from the $15 piece of crap to the $400 overpriced mallet and buy the one that you can't live without.

As for fairway woods, there are lots of great ones out there. Cleveland Launcher steels are sweet and forgiving. I play Callaway Hawkeye VFT Pro Series, you won't find a longer fairway wood for the money. Tour Edge makes the longest FW's, but they're not the cheapest. The R7 fairways get rave reviews. Mizuno makes good FW's as well. Wishon, Cobra, Titleist, Sontartec, Nickent, ect.

As you can see, there are LOTS of choices. You're best bet is to get out there and hit a bunch. Or, do some research, find one you just love the look of and take a chance. Really, there are no "bad" clubs, they just don't work for some people's swings.

    Good luck in your search,

Doctors say that you should eat 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day to remain healthy. Last week I ate 5 mouldy plums and that night I shat the bed. What's healthy about that?:shocked::shocked:

But don't ask for a deal. Ping will then piss in the face of your local shop and take away the "right" to sell Pings.

    Just keep that in mind.
