Dent in top of driver.... uh oh

so, i played 9 holes today and sucked big time after draining a 40 ftr for bird on 1.

after my drive on 6, i noticed a dent in the top of my taylormade r5 dual N. the dent is about the size of a quarter.

what do i do?? ive heard stories of Taylormade replacing r5's with r7 425's, but ive also heard of them not even returning calls.

im not sure how the dent got there..

I say call them. If they don't return your call what have you lost? but you could get a whole new driver. Manufacturers will often replace with the latest and greatest, but the r5 is still in production as far as I know. Never hurts to ask.

A few months ago, the N badge on my R5 fell off. I called Taylor Made and they replaced my club.

My experience with TM is pretty good, when I bought an r7 460, the first time I tee'd off I dented the toe. I called TM who had me return it to my nearest dealer who sent it back and called me within a few days with it's replacement. No questions asked!:smilie_tm

thinking further about it just now, it might have been i sky'd it really high on the club face, but even that seems like it would have just made a scratch.

on the shot where i think it dented, i got way under my drive, got a divot, and it went straight up, and way right cuz i had the clubface way open.

that day i was leaving the clubface open about 15 degrees, no joke.

i drove the ball so bad that day.

thats great news!!! really encouraging, cuz right now i do not have the money for a new driver after spending 150 on wedges off ebay the last 2 days.

i hope they will send me a r7 type driver(425, or 460) to replace my r5!!

Reading before I go to bed, bad idea.

Well I hope they fix it, if not get a plasma cutter and TIG. Cut it out, reshape it, and TIG it back in.

If you are brilliant, then it shouldn't be much of a problem.
