Titleist serial numbers?

Hi I now own a host of Titleist clubs and I have noticed that they have different style of serial number and I'm worried some might be fakes? Does anybody know what the serial numbers should be like?

I have;- 690cb's serial on plastic hosel. (Re-gripped) (6 digit number)

904f 4 wood. Again serial number on plastic hosel (re-gripped) (4 digit)

56 spin milled (has Titleist demo grip) serial on plastic hosel. (4 digit)

60 spin milled serial number engraved into steel part of hosel (original Titleist cord with writing on the under side) (7 digit)

9.5 degree 905R serial number on plastic hosel (re-gripped)(4 digit)

10.5 degree 905R serial number engraved into steel part of hosel. (original titleist cord with writing on under side) (7 digit)

Hopefully these are the norm with Titleist? Maybe some where originally demo's or some are from the US & others Europe. All the clubs look genuine enough to me but just concerned that the 2 spin milleds and the 2 drivers have different style serial numbers on different parts of the hosel?

they should generally be on the metal hosel part, on woods its the little piece of metal they put between the clubhead and the ferrule (the little black thing).

plastic hosel you say? is it black and between where the shaft and clubhead meet? because thats the ferrule??? and there shouldnt be any writing, especially the serial # on the ferrule....

If you can post some pics of em so we can see wat part theyre on, cause this has me a little confused, i have 2 Titleist drivers, so ill check those also.

Sorry, yes it's the black plastic ferrule. All the 690's have the number on the ferrule, one of the spin milled and one of the R's have it on the ferrule the other spin milled is engraved on the hosel part of the head and the other R has it engraved on the metal part of the hosel.

Ok, now i have no clue, i just checked all my Titleist clubs,

52* chrome wedge, 60 and 54* SM wedges, 983K and 905T and none of them have a serial # on them.... i bought all of them except the T from stores, and the guy i bought the T off of, i know where he got it from (local golf store)....

Now i have no idea....

You could try contacting Titleist, but theyre usually pretty slow responding to emails...

My 983K has a 7-digit number on the metal band between the ferrule and the head. I will check my 905R, and Vokey wedges tonight for you. I just happen to have the 983 sitting in my office, you never know when a driver might come in handy!

Why on earth would Titelist put a serial number on a disposable part of the club? That makes no sense at all.

Don't know but I've been to American golf discount and on all the Titleist irons they had in stock serials were all on the ferrule?

I live in the UK and have two 904F's and 905R driver. They were all purchased this year and have serial numbers on the plastic ferrule, 4 digit ending in 06. Tht is what Titleist CS say they should be.

ManchesterGolfer,

According to the Titleist web site, the serial numbers are located:

Drivers - Hosel
Fairways - Hosel
Utilities - Hosel
Stock irons - 6 Iron Hosel

So pick up a 6 iron and look on the hosel, not the ferrule...

Scott

Cheers Scott.

I have been to Nevada bobs today. They have a large stock of Titleist and they have a mix of serial numbers either on the plastic ferrule or engraved on the hosel itself. Strange but true?
