Let Ezra Find it...

I have an idea and it may potentially sidetrack my hoing problem. In this thread list any equipment you are looking for and my challenge will be to find it for you at the lowest possible price. I will do this for free out of sheer boredom. Seriously, give me a challenge. R35 is not allowed to post, since he is already slightly better than me at this anyway.

Titleist 905S 10.5* with Grafalloy Prolite (that club/shaft is harder to find then i thought). Also perferably new.

Also CHEAP scratch wedges. Perferably dead chrome finish.

PM R35 on the Scratch wedges. On a forum he belongs to there were 2 in the classifieds a few days ago. I am not allowed access to that forums swap section.

I can solve the Prolite problem. I have one in a 975J playing at 46 and change. Make me an offer, you can pull it or whatever. You want me to find a head?

Ezra,

You could actually make a little "side line" business out of this. Charge a small % for this "service" and I'm betting a lot of people would be interested. You have fun, they save money and their time and it might pay for all your ho'ing. Or you actually get it for them and they buy it from you? From your experience you guarantee it's real and not fake? Only deal with shot talkers who can be trusted to follow up etc.

I need to buy a shaft extractor and learn how to install, can't be all that hard. Then I can build up an inventory of shafts and heads, sell them seperately or at discount installed. Now that could make some $$.

Actually it's very easy. I have 3 905's in my favorites now, if I can get one, have the shaft pulled and the Prolite installed... One has a Speeder 652 Tour Spec. I could use a free Speeder.

Do you mean 6.0 ?? Or is this for your grandmother. She must be some kind of ballstriker.

Add it to your watch list. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mizuno-MP-33-2-I...QQcmdZViewItem

Rifle 6.0 will cost you less than $10 if you really want one.

I'm not allowed to post? I'm appalled.

How about a 35" Tour White Hot #2?

or

Accuflex Creation Copper, uncut, for less than $200?

I'd honestly be interested in a 02 Big Bertha 2 iron with a Rifle 5.0. You'll never find that ever.

Scratch wedges? What lofts?

Its easy, with a few exceptions:

Titleist woods are not only bore through but use an aluminum sleeve (only now are they available, and only one place I know of sells them)that in many cases needs to be drilled out an replaced

Taylor Made woods use special ferulles that require a bunch of prep work to get right, even then the small bore to ground depth of the Taylor made hosels can pose potential problems if proper prep and epoxy application isnt done.

Ping uses a form of epoxy that is only about 100 times stronger than any on the market. Ping heads usually take about 5 times as long to remove and then go ahead and try to remove all the old epoxy

Callaway woods are all bore through and require special ferrules. Thier irons are even worse as the dont even use a ferrule and require the shaft tip to be split for install.

Have fun with any composite heads. Cold wet rags and lot of patience work about 80% of the time.

You will need to learn how to turn a ferrule in order get a professional looking finish.

Learning to spine and FLO shafts wouldnt be a bad idea either. Also you want to get a good frequency analyzer so you can measure the CPM of shafts and thus get a better understanding of what "real flex, not just the letters R,S,X" works best for you.

Otherwise its pretty easy.

Lyle,

Normally you can drill out the Titleist head and save the sleeve. From guys that I talk with on this, it's really easy.

Ping is effed. I'll leave it at that.

Cally stuff is alot easier than you think. Hell, if I can do it, anyone can. I will say tho, I've never done an iron with the slots...yet. The new X20 Pros have no bore thru...things to come?

GS, Golfworks, MyOstrich all offer TM ferrules made specifically for thier shallow application. No problems whatsoever.

Did I mention Ping is warped?

I won't touch a composite head. I won't play one for this very reason.

While I have played a spined shaft in my driver in the past, I have no belief in Puring anymore. I do, however, in iron shafts, especially steel. I would love to have the equipment to FLO and measure CPM...

Clubmaking, while often a huge pissoff, is alot of fun.

R35
