fairway woods

I've been looking into getting a fairway wood since i dont have one in the bag.. I have my wedges, irons 3-pw and driver. What club do you recommend to slot between my irons and driver?

I havent really hit any fairway woods as ive mainly just used long irons for the longer holes, so any thoughts would be great

If you only want one and wish to hit it off the deck and tee I would suggest a 4wood. Something between 16-17* should give you enough loft to get it up off the fairway consistantly and give you a solid club with 85% of your driver distance off the tee. Brand is up to you. I've had luck with Taylormade 200steel and Vsteel.

Ive had good experiance with the Nike SQ Fw's, and there around 89-99 dollars now. If you want, theres nothing to stop you from grabbing a 3 wood or even strong 3 wood. I see you hit Mp-32's, if you have a consistant a decent enough swing to hit those, i doubt you'll have a problem getting a 3 wood off the deck. Dont listen to ezra, he swings too hard

Check Crossfire's signature... I only suggest 4W to cover the necessary gap. For me that would be a 270yd. driver, 235yd. 4w and a 215yd. 3i. Ideally I would play a 3 and a 5W, which I do.

try a low lofted hybrid 17* or so...they'd give you distance, be easy to hit from a variety of lies, and easy to get off the ground

start off with a 3 wood, depending on your loft of your driver try a 14 or 15*, then try a 2 iron or a 5 wood and see what you like better.

Ideally with your setup, id go with 3 and 5 woods. If you can only get one at the moment, get the 5. Its great/ideal for longer par3s and is easier to hit off the fairway then your 3 iron. Plus youll get about 15-20 yards up on the 3 as well. Then when you get the chance, get the 3.

You can see in my sig, thats my setup (although i have a 2iron instead of the 5 wood, personally like irons a little more, but the 5 wood will help SOOO much on long par 3's).

(^^^^ Demon posted while i was typing mine, he's right though, 3 wood and 5w or 2i^^^^)

3 wood/5 wood set up if you're wanting fairway woods. V Steels are a good choice.

See sig...you really need those 2 fw's more than those 23's now, don't you?

ho, ho, ho.....

Another vote for the V Steel. Very good club and good value now that they have been out for a while.

I would say a 5w, a strong 5w, or even a 4w if you can find one you like, or a similar lofted hybrid. Maybe in the 16* range or higher.

The key for me is they could likely be easily used out of the rough, where a 3w or less lofted club would be more limited to the tee or fairway, or at least in my experience.

Why are there so many idiots?

Tour Edge Exotics, or now, the new TE CB2. NOTHING compares in terms of forgiveness and length. Nothing.
