Well, I'm not sure what is happening to my game but it is completely going to sh@t. Litterally!!!

I know my expectation levels are far too high for my skill level, but this time around I have no idea what is happening to my game right now.

Typically on a bad round I can hit too many errant tee shots, or my irons are off or the whole short game just leaves me. But right now I cannot even hit a slightly decent shot.

Seriously!

I spent an hour at the range just the other day and I did not hit one good shot.

I started with wedges. Everything went off the hosel,,,EVERYTHING!!! :bang:

Than I decided to work on 8i's. If they weren't 60 yards right or left consecutively the came off the club screaming barely above the ground, carrying maybe 50 yards and rolling another 50ish.

Of about 40 mins. of the 8i I hit maybe three that were semi okay and those very rare ones travelled only 70% of their usual distance.

I was totally frustrated and for some reason I decided to give the driver a shot. Maybe the three best carried somewhere near 200yards and all the others were way off line and much shorter.

If I had to play that day I doubt I could put anything less than double the courses par on the scorecard, for real :confused:.

I have no idea what is going on, how the hell this happened, and even if this will leave problem will leave soon.

I am in serious, SERIOUS trouble!

The shocking pictures and reports coming out of Cumbria this morning show the devastating effects of yesterday's severe rainfall event in northwest England, and unconfirmed figures now suggest that around 314mm (12.5 inches) of rain fell in 24 hours in Seathwaite - which if confirmed would be a new record for the British Isles.

The flooding that has occurred really is on an extraordinary scale with bridges washed away, hundreds of properties flooded and utility services disrupted. With much of the rain that fell still to filter through the river systems, further extensive flooding is expected today. Flooding has also affected parts of southwest Scotland and Wales, and there are flood warnings out for many areas.

I am 44, and my eye sight has deteriorated recently, in as much as I now near bi-focals. I am already shortsighted, but can't read with my glasses anymore

what will this do golf, and how can I get around it? I assume that looking down on a ball when I'm putting with glasses that are split won't be easy!!

I must add I am a fine fit handsome specimen of a man apart from this

This may seem unlikely, but I played golf today! Actually I've played more in the last couple of weeks then I have all summer!!!
The golf in the Northeast hasn't been that bad this month. Is any one else still playing up here??? I played in Manchester today and in Pittsfield this Tuesday. Unbelieveable... Maybe global warming isn't so bad after all!!:laugh:

We all knew it was going to happen but I guess it's official now...


Nickent Golf out of business

Nickent Golf, which at one time enjoyed considerable popularity on the Nationwide Tour in particular for its hybrids, appears to be out of business.

The company, which was put into receivership in May, terminated its employees last Friday and will begin the process of liquidating its assets immediately, according to an e-mail from a Nickent employee that was obtained by Golf World.

According to the e-mail, a number of groups -- including the Nickent management team -- tried to craft a bankruptcy/buyout agreement with the bank but were not successful, leading the bank to pull the plug on the company.

Although Nickent enjoyed success with its hybrids (including making their way into the bags of players such as Jim Furyk), the company could not parlay that success into other categories such as drivers, irons and putters. Additionally, recent success by other companies in the hybrid
category, such as Adams Golf, additionally hampered the company's business.

i was just down at the golf shop and chatting with the sales guys and one of them mentioned that Titleist was looking at buying Adams Golf. has anybody heard any of this?

Well, a little rainy... and colder. 40 degrees, with temp holding constant. Usually, with just a drizzle, would be out playing. However, up until today, have played 24 days straight. Played a minimum of 18/day... a few 27 hole rounds... and a few 36 hole rounds. Total for 24 days... 540 holes.

Lowest round/rounds... 1 @ 77, 2 @ 78

Highest/worst round/rounds... 1 @ 92, 1 @ 91

Forecast is for drizzle/sleet/snow to continue today, tomorrow, into Tuesday. Not supposed to get any accumulation. If the course in open tomorrow... yes, we're dumb enough to go play. Winter cover on our cart sure helps. Sure don't have the problem of a crowded course!!!

We're wanting the course to pass a new rule. If you don't play during rain, snow, temps below freezing, or other inclimate conditions... you can't get a tee time before noon on the nice days!!!!!! :prop::prop:

Since 1982 our golf club has instituted what we call "The Can Club".

Back then, in an effort to assist some members with their putting, one of the guys pulled out a large Planters Peanuts can, sliced a hole in the plastic lid and about 25 guys signed their names on the can.

For the rest of the season, anyone who left a putt short or 3-putted had to put a quarter in "the can" before they went home.

After a round of golf it was/is not uncommon to see someone slip a few bucks in the can by day's end.

The money is saved during the season, then after the season ends, that money saved is used to buy a dinner for those in "the Can Club"

Yesterday was our "Can Club Dinner".

Included was all you can eat full salad bar, baked potatoes, chili, meatballs, steaks, BBQ beef ribs, shrimp, prime rib, onion rings and open bar.

We also had enough left over to tip the help an extra $45 each!

I am totally responsible for this happening. I had on a common computer at work an automatic log in which I never thought would ever cause any problem.

Truth be told, I have not been back to work in over 3months since I was laid off but for the duration of my employment my account has always been open and I hope nothing else was directed as an insult to anyone ( except for what came directly from me; those comments were well thought out :emot-ange )

No one has ever had my password and I have already disabled the automatic log in.

Upon further review, this may need more in-depth consideration. If hitting golf balls in the water pisses off treehuggers and pseudo-scientists we may have to revisit the rules, or adopt special ShotTalk rules. If we are pissing off these morons, why should we have to take a penalty stroke? Hell, we should get to DEDUCT a stroke, provided you are at least playing a premium ball.

For those silly enough to buy this scientific bilge, we could get up a system of golf-ball in stream credits, payable directly to those who would see to it that the money went to repair the devastation of our fragile environment.
