Not much point in me posting this I suppose, however if any GA/AL area members want to go let me know and I'll send you the link. It's a package deal for GolfWRX members, but that's easy enough to accomplish if you want to go.

Thats not the best part when in the heat of breaking the club I cut my leg with the jagged edge of the shaft.

I mean the kind where it didnt stop bleeding.

It was kind of like a 4 inch long paper cut.I actually had to cut & wrap pieces of my towel around my leg to stop the bleeding.

The bleeding wasnt very severe but it was steady.

We kept playing and the bleeding did finally stop.

But 3 months later Im sporting a 4 inch scar just below my knee.

First club I have broke in 40 years and it will be my last.

Still have never reshafted that damn Mizuno 60 wedge.

At least it made thru Cog Hill !!!!!!!!

And this time it was on a much tougher course!!! I won an incentive and was down in st louis to watch the massacre of the rams!!!! Anyways me and my buddy found a course to play sunday morning before the game. And we found a good challenging course!

Normandie Golf Course supposed to be the oldest west of the mississippi built in 1901. Played at 6500 and had a slope of 125. And man was it challenging!! There were i think 3 tee shots where i could actually see the landing areas! The par 3's were the craziest things i have ever played! I was hitting my sand wedge on a 135 yd par 3 due to the drop off! It was so much fun and really pushed my game. I was struggling with driver on the front 9 then on the back i slowed everything way down and was swinging at what felt like 50% but was still getting 225 to 250 just making solid contact. Just thought i would share my story! Probably winding down to the last rounds of the season.

Well for some damn reason when I get over the ball I lock up. When I am on a launch monitor or at home with the speed mate I can swing out of my kazoo. I have become scared to strike the ball with my driver....

I was averaging 112 with no ball in place and could bump it up every once in a while above 120 if I cleared really hard.

If I put a ball in place my driver drops down to 105..... What has happened?

My irons are still strong. My 3wood is still giving me good distance. Has this happened to any one else? I was carrying my 9 iron 160yards just a could days ago.

I have 6.0 rifled shafts in my irons. I have a protopype 60 x for my 3 wood and a 80 x for my driver. Should I go down to a stiff flex ?

I am quite confused... the driver is absolutely gone...100% No predictable flight, no carry, 250 with roll...:deadhorse:

Yips with the driver.......Help I need a psychiatrist.

which comes on the heels of a couple of real shitty rounds so this one was welcomed with open arms. Just one of those days where everything seemed easy. On the first par 3 my buddy and I caught up to a 4some and they had already hit. They waived us on to tee off and were standing on the fringe of the green. I stuck my 7I to five feet from 167yds and proceeded to birdie. Kept the driver in play with an average of 250 or so all day. Was hitting towering spot on draws all day with the irons. Couple of small miscues, but nothing that couldn't be recovered from. Now don't get me wrong, i'm not bragging because like I said, I shot a couple rounds in the low 50's in the two weeks leading up to this. Granted those rounds were played in wet, wind, and cold, but seriously..... how does one shoot 52 one day and 40 a couple of days later? WTF? This fact is what gives me the highest respect for pros. they can shoot mid 70's or lower on hard tracks almost any time.

Sunday was the day that topped all days, in my season to date. I've played all summer long with a group of guys I work with, in just little rinky dink tournaments around the local KW area and yesterday we finally won one!!

We have 6-7 guys on my crew that are dedicated to this little tournament team we've set up, it isn't ever hard to make a foursome outta these guys and I enjoy playing with all of them. Yesterday though, I think we found the All-Star line up. Everything we did worked so well, we worked amazing as a team, everyone did their part and it was like nothing went wrong. We carded a -3 round for the win, with one stupid bogey on the 16th (brutal putts from all of us!) But it was a super day had by all.

Best part of the day is the charity raised $1500, for local area kids in foster care. So the money went to a great cause. First year for the tournament too, with many more to come in future years I hope!

It's been a terrible year on the golf course for me.

I started the year flitting between 11-12 on a tough course with poor greens so I can play a bit, not a world beater but a decent player who could shoot low 80s and occasionally find the 70s on less demanding tracks. I'm now on 15 and am only going higher.

In late May I shot an 83 one evening and my swing felt great, I felt I could hardly hit a poor shot. Then 2 days later at the weekend it all started.

Low, smothered hooks all day. I wrote it off as just one of those rounds but it kept happening. So I took a couple of lessons and whilst on the range things were a little better back on the course my misery just continued. I did notice my left hand grip had gone haywire a while back but even addressing that hasn't cured it.

I have finally decided to give up for a while. Battling this for 4 months has been hard and barring 2 rounds my game has been in the gutter. I have 0 confidence in my long game, my short game and putting is fine but anything from 100 yards out is just horrible.

I'm going to cancel my membership (I've never really liked the course anyway, it's poorly maintained, greens are bumpy and generally you can see that the owners are only interested in what's coming in rather than investing in the condition of the course. I can only presume the greenkeeper is the cheapest they could find in the Northern Hemisphere) and start over during the winter with an eye to coming back in the spring at a new course and hopefully be able to get back to enjoying the game again.

What I wonder is if it's better to try and totally strip my swing down and start from scratch, maybe use a similarly built pro as a guide or just go for a tweak? I'd like to really start over but I've been playing for a long time and I think it's going to be hard to eradicate everything. And if I decide on either, what approach would you use? Books, vids, lessons (obv I know lessons are a must and I will be taking some during the winter) are all options but which ones? Are there any out there that anyone has seen that have helped you and are clear? I have Hogan's Five Fundementals which is great but tbh I think I need a fresh look at things. Any recommendations would be welcomed.

if you got this far, thanks, I know it might look like a whining old bore is having a bad day but I have really have a year to forget generally which I doubt has helped and I could really use some help. I miss the enjoyment so much, scores don't bother me but not being able to take any pleasure from the game is hurting.

Have set right there in that 83 to 88 range. Haven't been in the 90's since the 3rd Grade picnic. And, just cannot seem to get two 9's together to drop into the 70's. But, we're playing and having fun.... until yesterday.

One hour of physical therapy yesterday morning. 30 mph wind with a cold mist in the air. 42 degrees. We had got about 2" rain the night before and was carts on path. There were 3 of us playing... the ONLY 3 stupid enough to brave the weather and play. From the first tee to the last, it was as if I had never played a round of golf in my life. I, simply, could not make solid contact with anything. Driver... 2-wood... hybrids... even tried to use a 5-iron off the tee on a par 4 and couldn't get that thing airborne.

I struggled in with a 96!!! I, honestly, cannot remember the last time I carded a 96. Toed tee shots... fat irons... putts left way short... NOTHING worked and my card showed it! Wondered why. Both of the other players are regulars at our course. A**hats seemed to find humor in my struggle. And, mind you, I had to laugh to keep from crying! Inside, I really worried about everything from vision going bonkers to a slight stroke. Mind is not your best friend when this game goes completely bad!!!

Weather, today, was cold!! Began the day with another hour of physical therapy. 39 degrees with 20 mph wind. But, no precip in the air. Regular partner had to babysit grandkids. So, I went out to play 9... just to see if I could hit the ball. There was one single about 5 holes in front of me. He and I were the only two on the entire course. I hit two balls off each tee and it was as if yesterday never happened. Didn't keep score on that 9, but was pleasantly satisfied how the clubs felt and where some of the balls were landing. Buddy called right after lunch and he had been releived of babysitting duty. So, we headed back to the course. Three of us joined up for 18. 41/39 for an 80!!! Stupid game!!!!

Yesterday... 96. Today... 80. Same course. Almost same pathetic weather. 16 strokes, almost a stroke a hole, different. Hadn't shot 96 in forever. Hadn't carded an 80 since before the knee replacement.

Supposed to be frost delay tomorrow morning. Then, nice for a few days. Will be at the course when they open, tomorrow, to see if the better player shows up. Plan to try to play every day between now and Monday, November 2, when I'm supposed to return to work. If I never see another 96, it'll be too soon!!

Hi guys, I got a total of 139 rounds in this season and could have had 25 more if not for my MCL tearing in my left knee:real angry:. What really pisses me off is I was playing great golf up until the injury. I posted my lowest score at my home course 76, and 35 rounds under 80. My cap went down to 7.1 which is my lowest since 1997. I tried playing since the injury with terrible results. I'm done until April. I guess I am lucky it happened now instead of July but still a bummer. How'd everyone else do this summer ? any best rounds, hole outs etc........... Let me hear them

I have no idea how to swing a golf club right now. That could end up being a good thing though. I wasn't exactly playing too hot last time I played. I'm just looking to have some fun anyway, enjoy this little bit of "indian summer" while I'm unemployed. Half thinking of going to get a decent surfcasting rod. Stripers and blues should be out in droves right now I'd imagine.
