Sod forgiveness, give me feel, even if it is off the toe or the hosel, I just don't care, which is probably just as well. Actually they are pretty forgiving and not at all scary at address.

They are fitted with Nippon 950s and Lamkin grips - 4-7i CB-201 and blades 8-pw. Had 2 range sessions with them and am going to play 18 tomorrow - I shall report back.

Yummy

I noticed a few weeks back that Martin Kaymer is now using TaylorMade clubs (or at least wearing there hat and using there staff bag). I knew he was a Titleist staffer last seaon and though it was strange that I'd not noticed the switch before. Today I have been watching the Race to Dubai final and they had a feature on Kaymer as he is one of 4 players who have a chance of winning the order of merit. It showed him winning the French & Scotish Open and he was indeed wearing a Titleist Cap. He then had a 8 week layoff through injury and it seems that when he came back he had made the switch to TM. I find it very strange that he'd switch mid season especially after the best two weeks of his Pro career? Maybe the Titleist contract was up for renewal and they were negotiating all season and TM jumped in after his wins had taken him to the top of the Race to Dubia standing?

This past saturday i got the opportunity to stop in at the Faldo school in Orlando where my college buddy is the head clubfitter there. they had a demo going on at the range and happened to take a look. Here are some of my thoughts:

Wilson - yes wilson, i tried for the first time a 64* wedge that was fun to do. They actually make some beautiful wedges and had a forged iron that was sweet to hit. But those wedges are sharp - not sure if they will be legal next year but they had a great look and feel to em.

Mizuno - never been a big mizuno fan personally but i did look at their wedges with a fancy new groove. not bad, looked like a classic mizuno.

taylormade - got to finally hit the r9 and r9 460. both fantastic feeling and looking heads. i hit the crap out of them, wish there was a launch monitor. also got to hit the r9 tp heads. and honestly im glad i have the r7 tp heads. they had a topline that resembled the hogan edge from back in the day. too high a profile near the hosel for my liking. the head was too big looking for me even if its the same small size (if that makes sense)

nike - they had all the old equipment because they are introducing new drivers 2/1 ad 3/1. ugly loud typical nike.

callaway - i kept walking by, nothing new, (great review huh lol sorry)

adams - final tent on the range, i was looking forward to trying out their black box hybrids and their weight port adjustable black smoke tour heads. the shaft in the black box hybrids didnt match me but i thought they looked great. then the guy handed me a game improvement hybrid with a better shaft and i hit the snot out of it. though i didnt like the shape. the irons were nothing but gold ole fashion pureness. a very thin looking blade back to front, a high profile but for some reason it didnt bother me as much as the new r9's might have been the way the top line was rolled off. it was gorgeous and i would definitely play them.

Michael

Okay. First things first. I'm saving up for some new irons. I play Callaway Big Berthas and I'm looking for something that is less extreme player imrpovement

here is what I am finding: as my handicap goes lower, I'm at a 17 right now, I see the need to control shots more, even as simple as just lower shots. The Berthas don't let me do that. So I'm looking for some irons that are for a player who is lowering his handicap and wants a
more workable club.

Any suggestions?

Last questions is bags..... Should I stick with name brands like titlelist or callaway? Or are the ogios and sun mountains any good? I'd like a stand bag and the wife said for chrstmas, so help me out! Lol.
Thanks!

For the last few days one of my companies has been painting a local golf store. This is a full bore retail shop with all the brand names. Its a big store equal in size to about half a golftown location. Anyways, we worked out a deal in lieu of cash. Basically he told me to take whatever I want up to $3000.00

So I went shopping

Mizuno mp-60's - $500 These are brand new and the last set of them he had. I hot every iron set he had that looked good and these were hands down the best. I hit the titty ap2, the r9tp, the burners, callaways, cobras and nothing felt as good as these. Soft, yet solid.

Titleist 909f3 fairway 13* and 18* - $335 these looked and felt awesome. The titty voodoo shaft felt a lot better than I expected it would.

Titleist 909D3 8.5* - $399 wow did I like the look of this. Looked to sit way open, felt solid as hell. The Voodoo shaft in this was again very good contrary to what some have said. Why this driver isnt a bigger hit is beyond me.

So that left roughly $700 which I took in pro-v1's (15 dozen in total)

was a fun day

but was closed. :D

anyways, i thought i was odd the the rep that covered our region was never replaced many months ago. also, i've never seen any Nickent products in our golf shops that were'nt covered in dust, way off to the back of the store. always on sale too.

it was as if they made a decision to let the clubs market themselves....oops.
