Anyone around DC?

I'll be there in August. Should have a day or two for play.

I'm in northern Virginia and work in DC. Haines Point is ok. I don't know where you are staying, car situation etc. If you can get out to Virginia then Fairfax National is nice, as is Westfields.

On the Maryland side I hear Renditions is nice but haven't played it--it is one of those tribute courses where every hole is a copy of a famous one. I hear they have a neat pace of play system where marshals use color coded flags to tell you if you need to speed up and will even make slow groups pick up and move to the next hole.

Here are the websites:
Fairfax National Golf Club
Virginia Golf Courses - Westfields Golf Club - Clifton, VA

I will be playing Rendition next Friday Aug 9th. I have heard it is amazing, you can check it out online. I will let you know next week.

From the Renditions website:

*Renditions has not received permission to simulate the selected holes.
I've always wondered how all the "best 18" courses can do that. I would think that the designs are trademarked (or whatever the appropriate term is) by the owners or course architects or someone.

soxy-

If you can, snap a few photos. Looks like that course would be a lot of fun. I'm jealous!

I will see what I can do! I can't wait to play it, but I am willing to bet it is going to be a frustrating round as far as my score is concerned. More for the experience of it.

Sadly I won't be going. Have to save up for Florida trip later this year.
