So I was playing tonight.. Played 9 on a course I play near work from time to time. Decent track, nothing special though.. Upkeep is up and down. 27 holes, and usually there are good groomed holes, but not probably the worst I play on regularly.
I came upon this hole, which I had never seen. Par 3. Island green. Water runs all along the front, partial right, all left, and around the back. High right is clear, but with massive changes in the green, you want to be close. Good looking hole. Short as hell though. Played from the blues, it's only 112, 123 from the tips. Used a 52* for this one.
I parred it, left myself with a nasty downhill to the left putt that I just missed by inches.
This other hole is at the next nicer place I play. Par 5, just shy of 600 yards.. Over the hill and to the left. 400 yards to a creek at the bottom, trees on the right, and a tiny green. It's a fun hole, usually if you can hit long drive, long 2nd, you can iron it on. Very narrow fairways, and lots of "stops" in the fairway to keep you from flying it downhill from the top.
Post some of your holes that you have taken while out!
I'll get some this weekend from the nice CC I play at, it's very manicured, and is a great place.
