Killington, VT

I played a couple of rounds at Killington (VT) last week as part of a leaf peeper trip. Killington is a moderately short (6168) mountain course with open fairways on most holes. Another plus is that at this time of year it is walk on, nearly empty. I played a cart assisted early morning 9 in just under an hour.

The course is well maintained and about the only drawbacks are that an errant shot is usually a lost ball. Rough around the greens and small gullys and brooks fronting some greens also mean a lost ball if you don't get the yardages right.

Green Mountain National is a better course just up the road and I think they've siphoned a lot of the Killington play. Still worth a round if you're in the area.
