I wish I could give you better news, but in all honesty the courses down here are quite lame. Florida gets by on weather, b/c the merit of the courses is marginal. I live in Tampa and play at Avila, but you don't want to pay to play there it's not worth it as a guest.
If you can break free go to World Woods, insanely cheap this time of year at $34 and both tracks are great for Florida. In Clearwater you can hit Innisbrook, but it's a 5+ hour death march. They don't do any marshalling and they pack them in as fast as people will pay.
I would go to the St. Pete Muni Mangrove Bay. You can play in a decent amount of time in the a.m. and it's less than $30. Other than that it's really very, very average.
