We need to get this folder moving again, so here's my attempt.

I mentioned on a thread about books that I'm reading a basically unreadable book: Tee Times, by Jim Burnett. The writing is godawful, but I persist. It's about the LPGA in 1997. His version of A Good Walk Spoiled, except Burnett can't write.

However, the time travel aspect is pretty interesting. It was Karrie Webb's rookie year, Annika was just starting to come into her own, Kelly Robbins was dominant (when did you last here about her? She's still listed as exempt but hasn't played a tournament all season), and on and on. And jeez--I didn't realize Helen Alfredsson was that wild in her youth. So when I can wade through the prose-like words, it's fun.

Now I had to go back and read it: "Alfredsson has packed lots of living into her 30 years, showing up for high school classes after all-night escapades, traipsing off to Paris to become a model, creating a sensation as a student at the U.S. International University in San Diego by having an affair with former Mexican World Cup soccer player Leo Cuellar (who at the time was the school's soccer coach and a still-married father), cursing at golfballs l[sic] ike a drunken Swedish sailor, and driving cars and motorcycles with the pedal to the metal--at a drag racing school in Florida earlier in the year, Alfredsson topped out at 164.05, smoking PGA pros Davis Love, Bruce Lietzke, Kenny Perry, and Jay Don Blake."
