I had a strange occurence today

Ok well this little thing hasn't happened to me since I was tweaking my swing last September. I go out to the course to play a quick 9 with no warmup at all. So I hit a decent drive and then when I go to hit my 9 Iron I felt impact being really really off. I looked at the club and the club rotated 90* to the left in my hands! This occured about 2-4 times more during the round but I am still trying to figure out why. Think about taking your normal grip now all of a sudden the grip (after impact) rotates 90* while its in your hands! The face of the club was pointing straight to the ground when I held it out in front of me. Thank god for my short game keeping me in at +4 I think I had to scramble about 6-7 different holes and 1 putted each 4 of them.

But again I do not know why this happens. I've also realized that when this happens the club feels like paper in my hands.

It's gotta be something with your grip don't you think?

Are your grips newer or worn out?

you may be regripping stronger at the top of the swing?

Are you sure it's not the head rotating?

Eracer i am not sure what you mean by the head rotating. Its not the whole club rotating because my grip is not the same after impact as it was at the beginning. My grips are kinda old aging on 3 years now. Think that might be the problem?

I wondered if maybe the head hadn't broke the epoxy bond and was rotating on the shaft. Sounds like the grip itself is the problem, though.

just for clearification the grip itself is not rotating along the shaft. The whole club in its entirety is rotating in my hands 90*.

The grip might be rotating in your hand especially if its 3 yrs old.
