Nike problems Ignite vs SQ

Ok so I have had this SQ for about 8 months or so now and I have yet ceased to get 100% control of it. I got pretty fed up with it after my last outing and let the Ignite have its encore. Oh my! I can't believe I ever put this thing in the back up bag! My dad made a suggestion saying that maybe its the shaft on that SQ is whats killing me. So I am thinking of going to some fitter and trying to get an analysis on a new shaft for it. The 26.3 launches too low and it has to go into a time-out atleast for another 2 weeks or so.

Now my question is for anyone who has used these 2 drivers (a lot of ho's around so I am sure a few of you have had a whack at both) which one did you prefer?

I really need advice on what to do so I am kinda worried that I might have spent the money on the SQ and thrown it down the toilet.

Thanks,

Omar

Is that a Fuji Tour Platform 26.3 that you're saying is too low? That by all accounts is a high launch shaft. Are you sure there's not something else going on there?

As for the Nike comparison, I've only played the SQ Tour. A buddy of mine swtiched from the Ignite (400cc) to the SQ and is still making some adjustments. I don't think you'll find too many folks that have played both on this forum as there's not a lot of Nike love here. It's a shame too because they're making some really solid stuff the last few years!

You'll never get 100% control over anything, so maybe you're just being too hard on it?

What's your clubhead speed?

I can get it up to 115 max last time I was on a sim I was averaging about 105. It's just weird I hit alot more draws and hooks with the SQ than I do with the Ignite. The ball flight is just so much better there's almost 0 reason why someone would buy an SQ. I dont know but I am gonna go to a local pro see if I can fix it.

The SQ is an excellent club "with the right shaft". There is no doubt a shaft issue OR one club face is more closed then the other. sssmokin (and everyone else I've ever seen hit one) crushes the SQ and straight down the middle.

I've hit both the SQ & Ignite and they're both solid drivers but both have sh*t stock shafts it's as simple as that, upgrade the shaft!!! Bang a ProLaunch in it and it will transform it into a great driver!!!

FIXED IT!

Was not the shaft nor the club head! The SQ is back in the bag! Unfortunetly it was the swing. I realized that I was yanking the club back way too quickly and not being able to shift my weight so I could accelerate. I slowed down the backswing and just let it explode through the hitting zone and walah! I was almost getting to the back net at the range. Luckily the random guy next to me said "eyy uhhh don't you think your taking your backswing back a little too quick?" and I was about to tell him "thank you I think I got it" I realized oh man he is right!!!

Glad you got it worked out. I was going to suggest a different shaft.

I had that 26.3 in an R7TP and hit only massive hooks with it. I'm a fade guy too so pretty hard for me to get hooks. Add in the open faced driver and even moreso a phenomenon. That shaft is so soft down bottom I was unknowingly turning the head over way too fast.

I think that is my problem ez. I really do think that is what happens with that shaft. What about a Bi-Matrix? Think that would be any good?

I'd serioiusly look for a Blueboard or a VS Proto pullout. I know they are very pricey new but the reward for hunting down a pullout will make you a very happy man.

I have an Epic 68-S if you are at all interested. If you could have that shaft pulled and send me the head I could even install and have it back out to you the next day.

I will see if I can find a club with an epic around here and see how it hits. Who makes Epic?

How about a V2? That's the one Furyk uses I believe I heard they are quite the winner to alot of people.

Grafalloy makes the Epic. It thier new "nanofuse" shaft. I tried the V2 in my Superquad and hated it big time. Totally different than it felt in a 905R bore through.

graphalloy makes the epic... i have the V2 and it is a BEATER of a shaft and is about half the cost of the epic, idont know much about the epic but i know that the V2 has a mid kickpoint meaning if you hit it low it ll stay there n vise versa, and it is a neutrally bias shaft meaning it isnt meant for helping a fade or draw you ll hit your natural ball flight, but i know more about swings than shafts so take my advice with a grain of salt
