Just had to apologize to a neighbor...

Was working on hitting my hybrid out back when I got under one and sent it rocketing over ym net and 8 houses down.

Went walking down and I hear people talking about a golf ball... damnit! I went back and apologized. Guy was a little upset when he saw me but after I apologized he gave me a beer and we talked for a few minutes.

Suffice to say, I'm in for the night and my fiancee thinks I;m an even bigger dork than before, lol.

Nice shot otherwise! Almost left the block.

Be careful out there!

- Sean

There was this one place where the electric poles were about 15 feet wide (two of them, the space in-between) and I would get a mat out there, since it was empty for a ways around, and work from pitching wedge to driver getting it through.

It's not empty anymore,

Nice shot.

Glad it worked out OK and you were able to square it up right with the neighbor. I have always heard that these things happen with nets. At least you didn't kill or injure anyone.

I guess that is one way to meet the new neighbors.

One afternoon I was out in the back yard puttering around in my tool shed and pulled out a rusty old 5I blade. Decided I'd take an easy swing and hit one out in the lake behind the house. I must've caught it as pure as possible. I cleared the lake and hit WAY up into the guys yard across from me. I don't think I quite got to his house. Nobody was out in the yard so I never said anything. I've often wondered what he thought when he found a golf ball in his yard. Made me realize that the lake wasn't as wide as I thought either!

The only time you cross the water is when you shouldn't, figures.

On our course, the parking lot is immediately adjacent to the 18th hole...badly pulled approach shots will bomb their way into a parking lot filled with vehicles.

So when you pull that bomb waaaay left and see it fly toward the parking lot, you just wait for the sound....

1) A 'tic' means you have found pavement. Sounds just like hitting a cart path. This is a huge relief.

2) A 'smash/tinkle' means you have found windshield.....eeeeeewwwwww.

3) A 'clank" means you have found hood/bonnet or trunk/boot. Another.....eeeeeewwwww.

At that point, you have the terribly embarrassing task of going from car to car to car to car to determine which one you hit. All the while, people are coming and going and glaring at you with the 'eat shit and die' look on their face....then once you find it - it's time for "The Note" giving your name/number so you can handle the damages....

Used to own a house right accross the small road from the Rivermoor CC clubhouse. The 9th fairway (par 4) ran up the side of the road toward the clubhouse. Luckily we had this huge oak tree in the back yard since balls would land in it all day long. They'd just trickle down and drop softly on the ground by the trunk. Daughter would collect them, clean them and re-sell them to the golfers (I'd keep the good stuff). Also had a tall solid fence along the road and balls would come rolling on to the lawn underneath it too. That good old oak tree saved lot's of house damage and personal injury to us!!

I will be damned If I would pay to fix someones car. You are there you know they is a chance of a ball coming in where you left your car. Sounds more like you parked it there at you own risk.
