Most forgiving hosel?

Well, I thought I had turned the corner with my swing issues but yesterday's round did not go well. I figure if I'm going to insist on hitting the ball with the hosel I should at least have the best equipment for my new game...

May and June were simply deplorable from a game perspective, probably the worst I've played since coming back to the game three years ago. I spent some time with my pro a couple of weeks ago and I had gotten things back on track. Several range sessions over the last two weeks confirmed that my ball strking had come back (I even had a GREAT range session on Monday) however it all came crashing down again yesterday. I guess "all" is a bit much as I did manage to hit 9 fairways with a strong ball flight from the driver. The fairways were thick and wet so I was getting zero roll; pretty much fly 245, finish 248. I also had a decent day on the green finished the day with 30 putts (that includes two lip outs and three back-of-the-cup bounce outs). My problem was that I shanked just about every single 100yd wedge shot...

Oh well, take away the 3-putt on 18 and I would have been sub 90 so I guess I should keep things in perspective. I guess I'm also just irritated that I let my temper get the best of me yesterday on several occasions. Damn, sometimes I really dislike this game called golf!

your hips could be moving toward the ball on the downswing, thus getting in the way.. only place for your arms to move is out

Or you may be losing clubface control.. not getting the club around in time, showing more hosel then face, hence shank

The problem back in May/June was that I was crowding the ball at set-up and so, you're right, I couldn't get my hands/arms inside and that led to all sorts of problems. Yesterday's issues didn't stem from that though. Yesterday was more mental. Things came apart on 3 after I pulled my drive left. I attempted a knock-down 5 iron and struck it exaclty how I wanted to but I clipped the bottom branch of the tree. For some reason that immediately infuriated me as I executed exactly the way I wanted to but was rewarded with a really crappy outcome. I didn't clear my head and when I tried to simply hit a 9 iron back into a play I shanked it. From that moment on the hosel was in my head and I was hesitant and lacked any sort of confidence on everything (except my driver though which performed admirably all day).

My problem too. I have bad results and let it bother me instead of blowing it off and being confident on the next shot.
