Range shots/Course shots

Anyone else have a few shots they can excute on the range but not on the course and/or vice-versa?

It's very odd that at the range the majority of my drives are actually a slight draw and I can it a draw with the driver. On the course, I've been able to hit like 2 draws the whole time I've had the thing.

Now, on the flip side, my wedge shots. On the range I have trouble hitting anything but a high slight draw with my wedges. I cannot hit them low at all. On the course, total opposite. I hit these shots that look like I must have skulled it but they bounce once and pull the e-brake, leaving pitchmarks from like 30-40yds. away.

I can hit really good escape shots on the course but when I practice like a knockdown shot on the range it just doesnt click. I really need to see the surroundings and visualize the ball getting out in order to exectute those shots properly. Other than that my ball flight and everything is normally the same on the range and on the course.

yeah - i can nail my 13 degree t/s 3 wood off the deck at the range (grass), but on the course, it's usually a pretty scary result!

I always hit shots better at the range because there is no pressure to hit it straight and keep it out of the woods. I know lots of guys who hit it like they are scratch players at the range but like 12 cappers on the course. Everyone hits great shots on the range compared to the course. Trevino said once that this is the key to golf, taking your range game to the course.

Ez, you hit off mats at the range right? That'll explain the wedge change. Hitting down and through the ball hard will give you higher shots on the range cuz the club bounces off the mat and up into the ball.

On the driver - Check the tee height, cuz a higher teed ball makes it a little easier to draw, usually most tees on ranges I notice are either way too small, so ppl dont use them, and then way too tall, which ppl use and swing up/through which is how your suppost to.

From range to course, I hit all the same shots, but consistency is "better" on the range cuz I can replay every shot, and also arent shooting onto a green and into a pin, on the range its usually big yardage signs and I cant tell really how close I am cuz the grass is so long its tough for me to get the yardage (also my zero depth perception doesnt help at all).

Yeah, that's off the mats usually. The grass area is in bad shape right now anyway. I usually have trouble with my 5iron on down off the mats. It's probably not good for me to be trying to catch the ball clean with my steep swing. I hit off about a normal height tee. I think I just get setup and grooved better with the driver at the range. I was killing it up the middle for a while today. I even hit the 250 sign that twofast and i have been aiming at forever. Not sure how far it is for real but we can barely reach it and I know Twofast drives it further than 250.... or every yardage marker at every course we play is 30-40yds. short.

The hybrid is a lost cause off the mats. I hook mine and even draw twofast's 19* Sonatec with the 105g V2 out of a dead fade setup. BTW I hit his 3w and the Proforce 75X he has in there is super sweet, rockets down the pipe.

Ok. I just used google earth from where we usually hit. That 250 is approx. 275-280 from there.
