3rd Tournament this morning

Well, I'm getting ready to drive down and play in my 3rd tournament. The book I've been reading, "Golf is Not a Game of Perfect", must be helping some, I'm not a nervous wreck this morning and actually got some sleep last night. We had tornadoes and LOTS of rain in the area yesterday and it's still raining, so course conditions are going to be terrible I'd imagine. It's supposed to stop just before the tournament kicks off according to the weather forecast. Anyway, I'll tell ya'll how good I did when I get back home this evening.

And in case I don't get back before the game starts,
Go Memphis Tigers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck!! My next tourney is not until the 26th.

It's pouring here, and severe thunderstorms are predicted all day and tonight. Just as well, as my GF poisoned me last night, and I spent most of the night on the porcelain throne. Thank God for Imodium and soft toilet paper.

Good weather is predicted for tomorrow and I may drive over into SC to find a course where the rates haven't been tripled for the Masters.

Good luck! I am supposed to be golfing this Sunday for the first time all year, but the course conditions will most likely be similar to that. But anyways, good luck in your tournament.

We were suppost to have our first round today for our 4th tourney of the year...

So much for that. Tee times got pushed an hour, then cancelled all together. They said we could go out for another "practise round" if we wanted. It started to clear up a bit, so ok. Drove, got up into the fw and just started pouring, we just picked up and came back in.

Which is why im on the computer now, back in the hotel chillin until dinner. I wish I was out there playin, im startin to feel it, played great when we played for who had the cot last night. Went birdie-par-par to get myself a bed.

Well, I played better than the last one at least. The book has definitely helped me as far as controlling my nerves. I actually had a great time today, compared to 2 weeks ago when I was so nervous I felt like I was going to loose my lunch all day and had a miserable time. There were 2 holes when I committed the cardinal sin according to Rotella, I let my last thought before my swing be something negative and payed the price. On one hole there was water all down the left side, I went through my pre-shot routine, took my practice swing, stepped up to ball and suddenly thought, DON'T HIT IT IN THE WATER, well, I didn't hit it in the water, I pushed my drive so far right into the woods it took all 4 of us in my group to find my ball. On my 1st attempt to chip back out into the fairway, vines grabbed my club head and I only advanced the ball about 5 feet, another hack at it and I'm just barely in the fairway under some trees limbs. I ended up with a triple bogey. The other time I hit a perfect drive with my 3 iron, laying up for a perfect approach to an island green. Pre-shot routine, step up to the ball, DON'T HIT IT IN THE WATER, so guess what happens next? Houston, we have splash down! Go to the drop zone, dropping 3, hitting 4. DON'T HIT IT IN THE WATER. I bladed a PW that screamed over the green into the woods. Drop 5, hitting 6 I bump and ran it to within 1 foot of the pin, tap in for a triple, ouch. Add to that my putting was Horrible again, 2 one putts, counting that tap in, 3 three putts, and all the rest were 2 putts. Add it all up and I shot a 108, OUCH! But at least I had fun this time, and the course was sloppy, big time sloppy. I've got another one in 2 weeks, and this course is wide open everyone says, so I'm sure I'll do better on it.

Sounds like a challenging course , island greens. Its really good that you had a better time than last time though.

What the hell? I get poisoned by a cup of tea, Rock pukes his guts out for no known reason, craps in the bathtub and endures a brutal few hours of intestinal agony, and now you too?

Yeah. It was pretty bad, whatever it was.

mdw, I'm glad you had fun. Tourneys are so much tougher than regular golf.
