new guy, have any ideas on a major slice I hit

Hey guys, names Trey and I'm 20. Been playing semi often since I was around 12 until 16/17. Just now getting back into the game. I've hit some good shots, and they all seem to have power, but I have a huge slice especially off the tee. I played today and the ball as far as if I hit it straight was 250ish yard, but it was around 100ish yards to the right of my target line. Any suggestions. My grips stronger than normal, and the club isn't being casted. Could I be coming too far from the inside and opening up the club? When I originally started playing I had an out to in problem that I had to correct and I still haven't forgotten the feel. Thanks.

If you are sure your grip is decent... I'd say setup dead square with the face and take the club back square, straight back, as far as you can in one piece. Low and slow.

My straightest shots seemed to come especially from a short iron with a steeper takeaway and downswing. Almost feels like your coming over the top. I also can hit a fairly nasty push at times. Less so now but before I quit playing that was what I was fighting especially with the driver.

Forgot to add, I'm definetly striking the ball solid. Even as said with the slice I'll advance it with a driver 250 yards, just not straight. I knocked a 3 wood today off the tee nearly driving a 325 yard par 4 but the ball pushed about 5 yards to the right.

Buy a Cally FT-i and work on your swing making sure to swing inside to out.

Well, if you're sure you're coming through from the inside, maybe you're not releasing your hands through the shot. Just a thought...

You are probably getting your hands through before the clubhead. You also could be opening your left shoulder too much or too early causing you to slide across the ball.

Try this. Address the ball as normal. Then keep the club in the same position, but move your body to a closed stance. That should make you draw the ball.

Remember to hit it straight first you must know how to slice and hook the ball. That way you will know how to correct it.
