6 Birdies=81 WTF!!!!

So I got out after work for twilight and a friend of mine who works at the course let me play off 10 if I went quickly before the people on 9 could get over. Anyway I felt kind of rushed but I didn’t start off bad, I went birdie, bogy, par but it was the most bipolar round of my life. I just couldn’t get a good string of pars going just up and down all night. Looking back at the round I can’t really pinpoint any part of my game that sucked. The thing that killed me the most was just bad course management. Like trying to go at a par 5 in 2 and hitting a draw into a tucked pin with woods just off the green left, or getting to aggressive at pins when its better to be below the hole then pin high or above the hole, or trying to hit a tough flop to a short side pin in 5 inch rough and then there was the old hitting the wrong club because I was to lazy to walk back to the cart and switch clubs. It was my best round of the year 81 its not that great and I’m still disappointed big time because I don’t think I have ever had 6 birdie round it should have been at least a 76

Well you said you felt rushed so that might have contributed to that score. If you weren't rushed maybe you could have done better.

That is a crazy round. That means if it was a par 72 you played the other 12 holes 15 over. That doesn't sound too good.

Congrats on the birdies. I've never had more than 3 in any 1 round.

I think part of the reason I felt so rushed was because I was playing with my sister and her friend. They are both beginners so as a group we were playing slower than normal. My rhythm was just off not with my swing but I just couldn’t string pars together and get on a roll. I don’t think I had back to back pars all round and I think I had 4 or 5 doubles.

A couple of years ago I shot a 74 in tournament where I had 5 birdies, 4 bogeys, and a triple. It can happen quite easily. I have also been standing on the 17th tee at one over and shot a 77 on a par 72 course. It's golf. In fact, just this past weekend in another tournament I went 37 - 46 to shoot an 83.
