OK.

When setting up for a fairway wood shot from a level lie in a closely mown fairway, you must consider several factors that will determine the success of the shot.

1. Rotational amplitude. This is directly related to several important factors, such as muscular synaptic potential recovery time, synovial lubricity, and the ratio of fast twitch and slow twitch fibrocity. Rotational amplitude (resulting in centripetal acceleration) is mediated by muscles firing in the proper seqence, and at the proper amplitude. As in all golf shots, the proper balance of antagonistic muscle group activation is key.

In other words - SWING SMOOTHLY!

2. Positional stability. Several cerebellar functions, including proprioception, positional feedback pathways, and equilibrium sensing modalities, are especially critical to this shot. Proper positioning of overall center of mass throughout the swing (complicated, of course, by the multi-planar nature of the rotating swing axes) is critical to the delivery of the final inertial mass (clubhead) to the inelastic object (ball) at the proper time and place.

In other words - STAY BALANCED!

3. Force vector. Many bad shots are the result of poorly controlled force vectors. And while the above two factors certainly contribute to the resultant vectors, they are by no means solely responsible for them. Additional factors must be considered, such as: relative accelerative forces generated by the relationship of the moment arms of the clubhead and the hands. If these two moment arms are not kept in precise synchronization, the result will be the application of force in an undesirable vector. Compensation for an excessively long moment arm at the clubhead can be made by temporarily shortening the distance between the moment arms by gripping the shaft closer to the clubhead.

In other words - CHOKE DOWN!

That'll be $1000.00, which is about what Dave Pelz charges for an equal serving of bull$hit...

The way he's playing lately, those checks aren't going to be worth much.

Only got to hit a few balls at the range last evening before they closed.

They were perfect.

Figures.

I like to play the ball in the middle of my stance, hit more down on the ball then usual, I also like to play a draw on this shot to make sure the ball doesn't balloon on me. Put a Five wood to three feet from 205 after punching out of the woods using this shot just yesterday.

well i think for the most part, staying smooth helps the most.

i can go after it when the ball's in the rough, but on fairway, you have to be little precise. one way to do this is staying smooth. this smoothness will give you better balance and control.

or buy another 3w.

Don't ask me how I know; but trust me, that doesn't always work.
