Swing Advice (Thoughts Wanted)

I thought I found something that just made my swing click on Monday. Basically I think I'm rerouting the club. I take it back normal but when I come down, I let the club come through a slight bit further inside. It seems like I'm hitting the ball straighter and hitting more greens but today I got beat in my 2nd junior match by a sophomore (I'm a senior). I had a few drives that were pulled. I played average for me, I was +6 after 16 holes. I thought if I played decent I'd take the match but it didnt happen. So.... do YOU think it was nerves or the new changes to my swing? Keep in mind the pulls happened AFTER the turn when I was down 3.

Thinking too much can throw you off. Match play isn't a good time to try new things.. It's difficult to unlearn old habbits and the new swing quickly becomes the old swing... Swing the club Don't hit the Ball....

These are some of the thoughts I think of after reading your post.....

If I could have done anything different from the start I would have used stiff shafts from the get go.... I.M.O.

Good Luck...

I was at the range the other day after work, and kinda had the same thought. I tried a few different things, and hit several pure shots with my irons, which is tough for me.

My driving was alot better than normal too. Hell, I was messing around, and did a one handed swing with my 7 iron, and belted it out there, and it was soooo smooth and nice.

In any case Rideguy, why would you want to use stiff shafts early on?

I ask, because I have a set up, that is totally not for me, and I'm trying to fit myself into them. X-stiff driver shaft, s300tp shafts on my irons, and to boot, I'm using forged blades to "learn" on.

Some have told me, I'll atleast learn to use these and wont need to upgrade, and change things as I progress, is that your mantra?
