Source of hitting the driver toe

I'm on vacation in South Texas and I thought I'd take some time away from the beach and take a lesson while I'm here. I found the South Padre Island Golf Club could get me in for a quick lesson. I've been unable to break away from work long enough to take a lesson at home in the past month.
Right off the bat the instructor here found the source of my trouble was the bottom half was not turning out fast enough. I worked on a few drills and got turning a bit faster. Now I'm standing a little closed and the ball strikes are leaving marks near the center of the club instead of the toe.
I also need to turn my body more toward the target as well....go figure!
I still need to work on getting the swing path more from the inside out, but for now I'm happy with getting the ball out a little farther than before.

Anyone have any drills for swinging the driver inside to out?

Did you play the course. I had a great time. Just a fine course with great staff. Relaxed yet challenging.

I just think about pushing the ball just past a baseball pitcher on first base side of mound. Allow the space between you and the club to be wide after striking the ball. In other words do not let the arc close to the left too quickly.

Yes, I did play the course. I thought it was well done and it will only get better with time. Nice place to hang out for the afternoon.
The only real trouble I had was judging distances;I did not to have the gps turned on (I know better now). I also played at River Bend on the west side of Brownsville and man was it nice. I also had trouble judging distances there as well. I guess flat West Texas courses allow me a better read. Those are all I've ever reall played in my short golfing career.
I shot a 92 at SPI and a 98 at River Bend....I am a 15 cap now.
The Rio Grande Valley has some nice courses, just not enough time to play them all this week!

I find that I hit it off the toe frequently when I stand too far away and also when I forget to turn my body on the downswing to shift my weight forward. I forget to rotate my body and almost hit straight out at the ball and toe it.
