The glory of a coverless golfball.

Today when I was playing at Indian Spring golf club in Marlton NJ I had my first hole out. I'm 14 and go to the junior camp they have. We are on the 13th hole which is a short 150 yard par 3 over water. I hit my ball right at the pin but short into fescue grass. I look in the water and see a callaway that looked like the new tour IX that i was playing. i fish it out and it is just a HX Tour. we finish the back nine...which was number 1 today. At 18 I had a 5 iron into the green, a short par 5 at around 440. I get to the green and realize that there is a nickel size hole on my ball. I then proceeded to take the whole cover off the ball as we were waiting to go to 10 again...busy on the first tee. MY group played 10,11,12 and than 13. We than head had to head back to the clubhouse so we walked down the 18th hole when my buddy said let's hit approach shots from around 150 and 65-70 yards. At the 150 yard I hit 3 good 8 irons onto the middle of the green...than we moved to about 70 yards. I hit a few balls with a 1/3 swing of a 54* and they all hit and check. I than say to my buddy " I wonder if I can check up a coverless ball." I hit the ball and it hits the green and has absolutely no spin at all, it hits about 15 feet short of the pin and rolls up and drops into the cup. Started jumping up and down like a moron.
