I've been considering ditching my 60 and getting a 58... since I already carry a 50 and 54.

The 60* has a solid place in my bag. But not as a full swing club. Each year you can count on one hand the number of times I full swing a lob.

Mainly short fluff shots, sand bunkers, low spinners and chips.

I just added one. Twofast gave me his Sonartec 60*. I like it so far. I've been practicing with it at the chipping green to get a feel for it. I can stop a the ball a lot faster out of the greenside rough with it. I'll try to use it sparingly on the course.

Just throw a monkey wrench into this, I use mine all the time with good results. Anything inside of 75-80 yards or a deep bunker and it's the 1st club I grab. Unless of course the shot at hand calls for a bump and run, then I grab my 8 iron.

The last couple months I have spent 4-6 hours a week just practicing short game inside 60 yard and have started using the LW a lot more now that I have a chance to practice with it more, with good results. Before I would always use it about 3-4 times a round, now it is a little more. Funny you mention, because the other shot I am starting to use more and more is the bump and run and am starting to use it more.

Seems like I tend to practice my LW and 4i/R more in that practice than most of the other clubs next to my all too favorite GW. Gives a whole new perspective on possibilities even if I opt for another on the course.

Yep, the more I practice my short game, the lower my scores go. Wow, maybe all those experts really know what they are talking about? Plus, the better I get at the 60º shots at the pin and the bump and run, it's making my putting look a lot better. A 2 footer is a whole lot easier to sink than a 20 footer. And I'm starting to sink a few of the bump and runs so I don't even have to pull the Scotty out sometimes.

Same here - in fact it's my trusty club, the one I start talking trash about when I pull it out (if I'm with the kind of guys who appreciate trash talk.) I'll blade it or fluff it every once in a while, but normally it's ripping the covers up. Bounced one off the pin from 60yds out on the last hole last time I played -- of course that was my 3rd shot on a par 4 and I 2-putted, but at least my 59° SMT put it's thing down.

I'm struggling with the same thing. Not too long ago I was loving the 60*. I've hit some incredible shots with it including a chip in for birdie from about 20 yds out that made me feel like a real pro. Unfortunately, I've also hit some real stinkers. I never seem to know which way it'll go. I either hit it high and land it close to the pin or I end up blading it and sending it who knows where? That club seems to have gotten me into more trouble than it's gotten me out of, to the point that I actually took it out of the bag for a while. It's back in the bag now but I'm still scared to use it most of the time. The only shots that I always use it for are sand shots where the ball is close to the front lip of the bunker and the pin is close in. I'll also use it sometimes when I'm far enough out to take a full swing. As long as I'm able to power through the ball with it I get good results. The trouble comes when I try to finesse it. If I'm less than about 30 yds from the green I'm better off with my PW or SW.
